No it's true, he barely mentions the wife in the diary. I noticed that too. I wonder if it's sort of a culture thing that people need to show concern for their elders???

Melissa, I don't mean to be rude, but are you joking? Or maybe you haven't watched many Korean shows? It's kind of a central cultural tenet. The elders are always more important than the wife.

PS - can someone tell me what OWNAGE means? Thank you.

PS - can someone tell me what OWNAGE means? Thank you. Ownage means having the advantage of another or having more skills than anyone else. It's a interent word that most teenagers use, especially during video games, and judging from Naval power89 screen name, I think he or she is 15 or 16 years old. Sorry TheBo, I know you hate these unknown words destroying the english language.

Don't worry, it's not rude, I'm sure it sonds like I was stating the super obvious I totally get the repsect for elders thing, but I my comment was directed more toward the fact that he virtually ignores his wife in his writings. P.S., this is the first Korean drama I've ever seen! Can't wait for more!!

Hmm. interesting. maybe due to the fact that he had to be away for so long i speculate their marriage drifted apart if we were to just go by the diaries themselves. Otherwise, who knows, he could have written her many personal letters.

Ah! Cultural anthropology! LOL. Thanks, you guys. I kept trying to find out the definition by more oblique means, but could not get an answer. Always be direct, remember that. (I wish I could remember that.)
And Skinz, I don't object to word coinage. I object to improper usage. Also, not knowing what the heck is going on, that really bothers me, LOL...

Oh, he's just personally jingoistic, pakyown. A common failing of the very young. I just was trying to figure out what "ownage" is, and he used it, and you do too...LOL.
