Honestly, I never noticed her before in the show, but since you posted her photo I've been thinking it looks like Choi Yu Jeong, the actress who played Lady Yeojin in Bichunmoo. And today I saw this picture of Choi online: kr.img.n2o.yahoo.com/yhi/nbbs/1412/n2o_1412_67942_1?1118831092.jpgSo I guess it is her. As for the cutest question, that depends. Cutest character is hard to pick. They're all of them endearing in their own ways. But if I should pick solely on a biased opinion based on looks: Nalbal. Definitely Nalbal. Because to me, no one is more handsome than Lee Han Garl! ;D

Hello all- I'm been reading this board for a while but this is my first time writing. I, being a Korean and a descendent of YSS on my mother's side, am obsessed with this show. Unhealthily so. Anyway, I was curious as to who we choose as the most attractive YSS characters. Here's my list: 1. Admiral Yi Soon Shin. So good-looking and has a nice voice. Looks good in armor. Can sword-fight. And is a Korean to the core. And he's nice and smart and well, perfect. And let's not forget he has a cute bodyguard (see 3). 2. Constable Kwon. If Yi Soon Shin was chocolate, Constable Kwon would be vanilla. The actor is a bit old, but who cares? He's still really good-looking. And Constable Kwon is soooo smart and he hardly ever raises his voice. There's something strangely attractive about him. Does anyone else notice this? 3. Nalbal. I haven't seen the first 40 episodes so I don't know what his story is, but he's so mysteriously attractive. He's an awesome fighter, is very loyal to YSS, and looks good with long hair. Only a real man can pull that off. I also like Won Kyun's vassal- Han something. He's the young guy who wears blue armor. Very cute. Yi Ok-ki is also kind of cute, especially in his bunny helmet. And while not all that hot, Yi Soon Shin (not the admiral but his vassal that has the same name) is also very cool. All in all, I like all of admiral YSS's men (except Jung Man-ho pisses me off sometimes. Oh well.) So after that long post... who do you ladies pick? I suppose the men can answer if they want, too. Hi, Princess-Welcome to the board. Great to have you here. Thanks for detailing the cuties. I have to agree with your top choices. --Also, you could also add in Jung Wun and Minister Yu (because of his goodness and loyalty).

I'm going to repost "who is the handsomest man?" photos to help you guys choose your cutest character. ;D My handsome and lovely Admiral. Kwon Jun with soft voice and cool head. Crown Prince Gwang-hae. What an adorable boy. King Sun-jo..... a handsome guy with an evil heart. Yi Il .....Where are you? I really miss you. Yi Young-nam...... the handsomest young man. (sigh) Jung Wun .... sometimes he looks cute. Poor Jung Man-su. He is always beat by his superior Jung Wun. ;D Everybody loves Todo Takatora's cute hairstyle. I can not choose just one man. ;D Choko---- An-nyong haseyo! Thank you for taking the time to post these really GREAT photos! Adding photos like this to the fan board really helps viewers like me, who can't always remember some of the names of the supporting characters. Kamsa Hamnida! Hope all is going well for you.

An-nyong haseyo, Choko-- (I'm bowing from the waist! ) Kamsa Hamnida for the compliments! I am studying Korean informally at the moment with books and CD sets from the bookstore. I have looked into taking a formal Beginning Korean language course at a junior college near my home. Unfortunately, the only Korean classes start at 3:30 in the afternoon, and I work full time during the day. I think I would learn faster in a formal classroom setting. I plan to travel to Korea in a few years with my husband and we would like to be able to get around without too much difficulty, language-wise . Do most of the businesses in Seoul have some English on their signs, menus, etc.? -- Joun Haru Deseyo!

As you see in some Korean dramas, Seoul and other big cities in South Korea have English signs and menus. taxis provides you with free phone interpretors and buses announces in English and Korean. Don't worry about that.
Nowadays many young Koreans can speak English very well, or at least they can understand your short English. So, choose a young man/woman in their twenties and ask him/her directly how to go. Although they can not speak fluent English, they are willing to guide you. Goold Luck! ;D

Hi, Choko-- Thank you for writing! I appreciate all of your tips and we will definitely take your suggestions. By the way, your English writing has improved quite a bit since you first started posting on this fan board. I remember all of the wonderful posts you made while Dae Jang Geum was airing in Chicago. I learned so much about Korean culture, history, hairstyles, costumes, etc. from your excellent descriptions and detailed explanations. You really were quite instrumental in making my avid interest in Korea grow. Just wanted to let you know that!

Oh, I'm a Kim too. But my mother's mother is a Yi (Lee) and is a direct descendant of YSS.
What kind of Kim are you? I'm a Jun-joo Kim. Jun-joo is the capital of Jeolla province, which is YSS's territory.
This is sort of weird but it's midnight (central time) and in 8 hours I'll be getting on a plane for Korea! I definitely plan on visiting all the historical sites with my family. I'm only 17, so it's not like I plan the agenda, but I am very good at persuading people. Muhahahah.
If anyone replies to this post, I won't be back for three weeks. Happy YSS watching- I shall try to report my findings when I return.

Hey everyone from Korea!
I finally got my hands on a computer! I haven't done any sight-seeing yet because my parents are visiting relatives, but I did see some stuff while driving around. I saw the turtle ship (not up close but still very cool) and the statue of YSS in downtown Seoul. So awesome! I also went to a bookstore and bought YSS's war diary in Korean. Tomorrow I am probably going to Min-sok-chun, the Korean folk village where a lot of filming goes on. I believe parts of YSS and Dae Jang Geum were filmed there. My aunts are also finding out where they film YSS (it's still airing in Korea) and maybe I can go see the filming. If I'm feeling brave enough I might storm the set and demand pictures with constable Kwon and YSS and Nalbal and the rest of the generals. I'll probably get arrested but oh well...
If I can find another computer soon, I'll update on what I'm doing.

Princess, thank you for keeping in touch with us while you are in Korea! Was it a long flight over there? (Oops, I'm assuming you flew out of Chicago, but maybe you departed from a different city!) Anyway, that is so exciting to be in the regions where such wonderful Korean dramas were (and are being) filmed!!!!

Well, turns out I didn't go to the folk village today. My parents are busy for the next two days meeting old friends and distant relatives (darn). Meanwhile I've been shopping like crazy- everything in Korea is so cheap! Especially because I love school supplies- gel pens, cute pencils, erasers, etc.
Anway, relating to YSS, I haven't done much except read his war diary. YSS airs on Friday and Saturday nights in Korea, so I haven't had a chance to watch yet.
And yes, it was a long flight. I live right outside of St.Paul, so I had to take a plane to Chicago's O'Hare (40 minutes) and then a plane from Chicago to Incheon (13 hours). It was a long and miserable flight, but at least I don't have air sickness problems like the rest of my family.
Hopefully I'll be able to visit the set of YSS. Wish me luck!
-Princess
P.S: I've been looking around for YSS merchandise- posters, charcter keychains, etc. I haven't seen any yet, but I haven't been around much, so hopefully I'll find something. I would definitely love a poster and keychain for YSS and Constable Kwon and the rest of the generals. Hee Hee~

YSS's wife had the same name so I might be related to his descendants since my surname is relatively rare. And also, some time ago I posted that I met a direct descendant back in 1991. His name was John Lee, a missionary from LA. Maybe he might be related to your mother?
