I am new to this series, having recently arrived in Hawaii. What a show! This is intrigue, action, passion, and history wrapped into one. I hope this appears some day in DVD, so that i can follow it from start to finish.

I second that emotion. I just started watching 2-3 months ago and-I-am-glued-to-my-tube. The writing, the scenery, costuming, acting is in------sane. Hawaii huh? Have another ticket?

I couldn't imagine too many people watching this show, I've been watching it for about 3 or 4 months now, and it just keeps getting better, you never know who might get killed or appear for that matter. The score is top notch, the acting and the scenery is too. Another big reason I'm so into it is that it only breaks for commercial once an episode unlike American TV where the whole thing is ust a bunch of ads with some mind numbing show in between them. I hope there's an ending to it, although I hope that ending is ways off, because I'd rather see it all end the way it's "supposed to" rather than due to cancelation brought on by a lack of new ideas. This show is awesome

Of course I'm in agreement. I just started watching the show about 4 months now, and I try to watch every episode, even the repeats. It's definitely a drag though when my girlfriend wants to go out whenever the show is on. Grrrrrr.

Because Chung Jung Bu's clan fears what she could do to them if she became empress. She did however become Empress.

I agree. This is the greatest show of any sort I have ever seen on television. There have been at least three episodes when I walked away afterwards saying "that is the best single hour of TV I've ever watched" only to have it topped the next episode. I have watched many historical dramatizations on Japanese TV, and, for the most part, the Japanese dramas (e.g., Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Masamune, etc, the best probably being the Hiraizumi story that aired in the mid 90s) fall way short of the Age of Warriors mainly because their characters tend to be more like Hollywood epics--they're fairly black and white. Those shows featured little of the gray shades that we get in AOW. There is pretty much nobody in AOW who is purely evil or purely good.
I stumbled upon AOW somewhere about episode 12 or so. It kills me that the station it's on doesn't come in too well where I'm at (SF Bay Area, and not on cable). I've been searching for something that can move in the way my favorite novel (The Three Kingdoms--have read this a gazillion times now) does and I must say this show fits the bill. Speaking of which 3K may have had some influence on the writing here. The "sworn brotherhood" of Che Won, Yi Ko, and Yi Ui Bang is like 3K (Liu Pei, Chang Fei, Kuan Yu) although in the 3K Liu Pei doesn't go and kill the other two. Che Won is drawn almost exactly the way I imagine Chang Fei in 3K, but maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there. The parallel ends there of course because Yi Ui Bang and Yi Ko do not resemble Liu Pei and Kuan Yu at all . AOW does have an element that is for the most part missing in 3K, which is the role of women. On the flip side 3K of course has much more in the way of outright brilliant military strategy (battles are won much more with brains than sheer fighting ability and valor).

Because Chung Jung Bu's clan fears what she could do to them if she became empress. She did however become Empress. She did? I could be wrong but from what the narrator said, I think she was just given the title of empress, which wouldn't be too much out of the ordinary. I'm not so sure that she actually returned to the palace.

I'm not so sure that she actually returned to the palace. I agree. The Crown Prince says he will call her Sambalya (or something sounding like that. I am not sure what it means, but the way the narrator said it was a big dea; something bigger than empress. )But this will only happen when the crown princes becomes the emperor.

Yes, I agree this show is fantastic. I have been watching the dramas about koryo for about 3.5 years. This includes the series with bekjae, shilla, and koryo in the unification wars, the dawn of the empire, and of course the age of warriors. But out of all 3 of these series' The Age Of Warriors is by far the best. this show features non-stop action, likable characters and villians, and a great storyline. I dont know how many episodes are left in this series but i hope there are plenty more to come!

This show rocks like no other show has ever rocked... I once thought that the Sopranos or maybe Babylon 5 were the kings of serial television. But this show cleaves them apart like a victim of the archfiends battle-ax. Whats cool is that my girlfriend also loves the show. Woo- Hoo!!!

Episode 9 just aired here in Philadelphia and I continue to be stunned by AOW -- their guitars and cars may not be first-rate, but when it comes to episodic TV drama, these Koreans are simply incredible. I caught about half of "Emperor Wang Guhn" and all of "The Dawn Of The Empire," but AOW is clearly the cream of a very strong crop!

This is the first of these shows I have stumbled across. I am hooked. I came in 2 episodes before Madam Yin's suicide. It's refreshing to see history brought alive in this manner. I would like to see this on DVD as well

I love this show...it's definatly my favorite. The endings rock...I love those cliffhangers, and the music that plays rocks. The only problem with the endings is when you have to wait a whole week. Keeps you glued to the television. Honestly...i'm suprised it's aired all over the country I'm very glad it is ;D

I was wondering if "AOW" is aired in Arizona. We have it here in Hawaii, because of the considerable large Korean population here. I'm not Korean, but this happens to be my favorite show of all time, as well as Wang Guhn, Dawn of the Empire, etc..
