thanks to both Melissa & Mikey. You know it's funny, Chae Rim is one of the only k-drama actor & actresses whose real name I remember. And I've only seen her in OTGP. The other one is Lee Tae Ran but I've seen her in 2 dramas already. Everybody else's name I forget. Back to the topic then. Thanks again!

BYJ = Bae Yong Jun (main lead in Winter Sonata) Choi Ji Woo = Main lead in Winter Sonata and BYJ's love (in the drama) she's also in Stairway to Heaven. I can't remember too many others, but I've seen these two in several dramas/movies. Melissa

Yes, I also have to admit that I’m still a little cool about “My Sweetheart,” but I’m determined to give it a fair chance, since it was written by the “Yellow Handkerchief” screenwriter. Right now, I’m quite enthused about “Immortal Yi Soon-shin” and “Emperor of the Sea.” Increasingly, I am also enjoying “Super Rookie” (not only funny, but an all-too-realistic portrayal of the cutthroat, backstabbing big-business workplace environment). “Wonderful Life,” though, just can’t seem to grab me. The only other K-drama I’m watching right now is “All About Eve,” I keep watching snippets of my Sweetheart to see if anything "grabs" me - I've seen the summary for the show and it looks like it will get interesting, so I'll wait until then! LOL Super Rookie is really funny. I think Eric is better suited for comedy that a serious drama. I recognize the other guy from the show "Second Proposal" - that was really good, but my husband wasn't interested in it. Wonderful Life, being a "girl" interests me. My husband rolled his eyes when I wanted to record it last night - he won and watched a stupid comedy show instead. (I ended up watching it while working on the computer at 1 a.m. or so.) Did you know they repeat some of the shows 3 times? For example, My Sweetheart comes on about 7:30 p.m. and is reaired about 11:30 p.m. the same day and then again at 11:30 a.m. the next day. The Saturday/Sunday night shows -Sassy Girl- only repeat once (that I know of) and that's on Tues/Wed mornings at 10ish (competes with channel 20's subtitled program from the night before.). All About Eve is a great drama, I have that one in my collection. Yi Soon Shin is great - DH got really frustrated last night when they didn't show the battle scene after teasing us at the beginning! LOL I am really enjoying Emperor of the Sea more than I thought I would. I couldn't stand the casting of (forgot his real name) Jang Bogo - felt he was too old, but they've finally had his hair pulled back and he's looking better. Old, but better. (I can say that because I'm in my 30's!) Definitely enjoyed these historical dramas. Galacticchick, if I had to choose between our DirecTV and TAN, I would choose to keep TAN. But, I agree with mikey in that if you don't have a clear shot of the sky, forget it. Otherwise, it's the best buy for a K-drama addict. Melissa

I have Comcast digital cable. I'll call the guy Mikey suggested to get an estimate of what it would cost to install. I don't think I'd be able to get anything done though, I would always want to be watching tv.

BYJ = Bae Yong Jun (main lead in Winter Sonata) Melissa How could I forget my own husband? Aigu! Of course I remember Bae's real name along, with husband #2, Ji Jin Hee.

LOL...that's why I *have* to record shows. There are just too many. The only ones I make a point of sitting down and watching (while doing nothing else) are the historicals - Yi Soon Shin/Emperor of the Sea. Otherwise, I'm cleaning, working on computer or folding laundry....so, I'm really trying to justify it actually. LOL It's too bad TAN doesn't have Tivo or DVR, that would be wonderful!! Melissa

Did you know they repeat some of the shows 3 times? For example, My Sweetheart comes on about 7:30 p.m. and is reaired about 11:30 p.m. the same day and then again at 11:30 a.m. the next day. Showing more than once also helps in the event of satellite “rain fade,” when something like heavy storm clouds interfere with the satellite signal. Very disappointing when things like this happen, but at least TAN offers you a second (or even third) shot at catching the show you might have missed. One other TAN virtue I forgot to mention: though TAN has lots and lots of commercials (evenings on TAN2 are usually devoted to a stupid, three-hour shop-at-home program called “Gem Auction TV” – and it’s entirely in English, no less) once you get past the commercials, they run their dramas unedited and without commercial interruption. Compare this with the Los Angeles area broadcast, where California board members were groaning that the final episode of “Sassy Girl” was cut down to “less than 40 minutes.” TAN's broadcast of that final episode ran a full hour! Can you believe that one-third of that final episode wound up getting cut in the Los Angeles area broadcast? No wonder the California viewers keep commenting about how confusing “Sassy Girl” seemed to be at times. TAN is a bit expensive, it’s a hassle to install, and lack of an English-language program guide makes finding your favorite shows a guessing game sometimes – but honestly, it’s one of the few things I’ve found that’s actually worth the cost and trouble.
