In the last few episodes, Grandma's dementia is getting worse. At times she's very clear, then very confused. Min-sup is very devoted to his mother. It was very strange how Grandma held Jee-min, then calling him Min-sup.
Will Grandma end up in a kind of nursing home or even dying? Before anything happens to her, I think she has a lot of stories, about the past, to tell.

Grandma's dementia is definitely getting worse . I don't think Min-sup would ever put his mom in a nursing home. He loves her too much to be parted from her like that. I'm glad Grandma wandered into the bar because Eun-soo was there. Grandma does have a lot of stories to tell. She's already told us that MS isn't her biological son, but she raised him as her own. Also that Ji-hae's real grandmother (MS's biological mother) looked exactly like her. I wonder if Grandma has more stories to tell? I thought that after Grandma told her secrets, she would feel better, but I guess not since her condition is actually getting worse.

Now that Grandma's wandered away again, Min-sup must realize that it's time to get Grandma on some kind of medication if she's not on any. Without it, I can see some real tragedy in the future.

The <unsubtitled here> drama "Her House", and a couple of episodes of "On the Green Prarie"lead me to think that elderly Koreans with dementia are not sent to nursing homes, but are cared for by their family.
But they've also shown old folks who have been turned ou to the streets. However, I'm sure Min-sup wouldn't do that.

I agree that MS would never put his mother in a nursing home or put her out on the streets.
MS has really changed. In the beginning of the series, he earned the nickname "Lazy Boy" and was seen as a useless guy who spends his days either drinking at the bar or being a "Mama's Boy" at home. But now he's become different, which is a great thing. He has shown that he is a talented artist, a loving son, a fun father and husband, and a cool person all together.

Lovely, I heartily agree that Min-sup has changed. Despite some of the shortcomings of this show's writing, I think they've done a very fine job of developing his character. In some respects, he has become the moral center of the show.
Credit also has to go to the actor, who has enough facial, vocal and kinetic skill to steal every scene he's in -- and doesn't! In the earlier episodes, he upstaged the others quite frequently, but as his character has evolved, he's more and more playing to the ensemble.

the family needs to get the grans some help. they can't continue hoping that things change if they're not willing to do nething. but it's funny how fate played a big part in finding grans. eun-soo sees her in the bar....wonder if had grans gotten lost in real life it would have been the same....

I don't see the change in Minsup. Maybe he's nice and attentive for one or two episodes but then it's back to his old ways. Despite his mum's detiriorating condition he still doesn't help out with the housework and instead lets his daughter with the brand new baby and business do it. He still goes out to drink as soon as there is someone home to relieve him of his "shift". He's not that bad, but he's not that good IMO.

I know from experience how disquieting it is when a relative you've known your entire life asks, "Who are you?"
I think Min-sup still goes to the bar because he still can for now, knowing that, soon, his mother will require all his attention.
I wonder how this will affect Jin-soo. When Grandma came up to the studio during his lesson tonight, he looked concerned and confused by her behavior. We are having a contrast here: a disabled son who is slowly getting better, and a parent who is steadily declining.

I, too, kept thinking how stressful it will become for Min-sup in the future. His Mom seems to want him near him at all times when she's not sleeping. Jin-soo depends on him because he learns a lot when he's with Min-sup. His wife is the bread-winner of the family, but she's doing the best that she can from work.
It will be interesting, in the future, how Min-sup deals with a new grandson who will grow up to be normal, a disabled Jin-soo who thrives because of him, and his mother who is declining.

Whatever happens I think it will have to occur pretty quickly since this show is almost over. I find it annoying that the writers are raising issues so close to the final episode. I like grandma but see no good end for her. Liz
