Did anyone have dry eyes watching the scene as the birth mom came to Min-sup's and Jung-ae's home in tears just wanting to see her child before she left for Mexico? It seems pretty far-fetched that she was going to Mexico, of all places, to marry a Korean man. However, this scene was touching for all of us. Jae-hae's family felt terrible sending this young woman away especially knowing that the baby's father died in an accident. Here we see a young woman, married or not, having a baby, then having to leave her son. I was almost waiting for them to ask her to stay with them, becoming part of the family, but that was not possible.
I think Jee-hae was right in wanting to see the birth mother to tell her how precious a gift her son was to them. It still would make a touching scene.

I know I didn't, Sandy. And I agree that Jee-hae had a very kind and generous instinct there; I would have liked to see that scene, too.

So Jee-hae found out, after all, did she, and did not have a nervous breakdown? Surprise! It was sweet of her to offer that.

Lucy, in the future, the birth mom may very well return to Korea since her marriage is one of convenience, not love. Jee-hae is as kind as Hee-soo, so she may keep in contact with Jee-min's mother, sending her pictures of Jee-min's life.

Seemed far-fetched to me, too . . . but I ran across this link on the KoreanWiz site: times.hankooki.com/lpage/culture/200502/kt2005021819585911710.htmIt's a short article about Korean migration to Mexico. Worth a quick read.

Yi, Mikey, that is so interesting. Hallyu is everywhere! Thanks so much for posting it. (For all you others, when I clicked it, the window popped open large but then minimized itself while it loaded stuff from the website--you just have to expand the window again.)
