That's exactly how I feel. I thought she was actually going to become a different person once the family accepted her back in the house. But now it's like she's back to her old ways again.

not only is she back she's back and better than ever. im just glad at this point that philly and chicago is on the same schedual again (i think were one ep. ahead) because i couldent have possibly kept these events to my self ;D
esm is just pushing people to see how far she can go. okay we all know that she has and always will have DD under her thumb, who she's really testing is jin-kook. she could really care less about hee-soo, she's just pushing all of jin-kooks buttons to see if he can be easily munipulated also.
and it seems to be working, although jin-kook sometimes stands up for his wife he then turns around and tell her no matter what happens he'll never move out. hee-soo really need to take action for her own life(and the life for the never-mentioned child)

This woman is so evil and manipulative. She tells her husband, Golfer Dad, negative things about Hee-Soo, and he believes her. ESM hasn't an ounce of appreciation that she's back in the family again nor does she care about H/S. Yet she expects service and respect. ESM resents J/K and H/S from moving because she needs them to care for Jin-Soo, now and in the future.
H/S is so kind that she would take J/S into her home if he was orphaned. H/S has become a door-mat for that family, but she would do anything to help them.

So ESM keeps telling Ape-dad that they shouldn't let the kids move out. And how exactly is she planning on doing this? I'm still wondering why the kids would move out - they're the ones that bought the apartment that they're in now. They should just sell it and tell the parents that they're on their own.
Or perhaps they could charge them rent ... heh heh that would be totally evil and yet warm my heart.

I think ESM doesn't want JK and HS to move out so she can have HS do all the houswork and also someone to talk bad about all the time and have DD agree with her every word. I kind of miss HS's talking back or her "brain game" with ESM. Now HS just puts her head down low and accepts her scoldings. Before she would talk back to ESM in a funny way. My favorite was when ESM asked HS if HS's baby kept asking her to go out all the time. HS's response: "Oh, amunim! How did you know?!" ;D

Hey, one thing that keeps slipping my mind--now that you remind us of the fact that Jin-kook bought the apartment, Hach: Q: WHY did they have to move into it in the first place? A: Because ESM stole all their money and they couldn't afford to live in a big house anymore! Jeez! You'd think every day she woke up in that apartment would be a reproach to her for that very reason! She should blush every time she thinks of why she's in an apt. and not the original house, and bite her tongue rather than start dictating about who should live where and whose money is hers.

HAH! and then ESM comes out and goes...that's hee isn't it? i know JK isn't home this early usually. i was like woman step down... someone better tie her up in a cage because that's what she is; A WILD ANIMAL!

When I saw that business with the music, I was like, "you can't even let Hee-soo listen to music without finding something to criticize her for?" (Insert swear word here), people, Hee-soo is not your possession, it's not all about you, and not everything Hee-soo does has anything to do with her being or not being a dutiful DIL. Leave that child alone for a minute, can't you! Did anyone notice when Sung-ae was conferring with Min-sup and Grandma about HS's home situation, she gave a good rundown of what's eating ESM and then said, "Hee-soo's not that easy, either," but didn't say what she meant? That was such a copout on the part of the writers. I would like to see in black and white just what Hee-soo's prob is supposed to be, in the eyes of her aunt and other outsiders.

It's probably because her problem isn't anything other than wanting the family to be together, wanting the credit for what she's done, and wanting to live happily while being allowed some freedoms that modern women expect.
I think that feminist is a dirty word in these dramas. Younglan and now Heesoo have both felt the problems inherent in actually trying to work or maybe go outside once in a while instead of being kept barefoot and pregnant cleaning house (they've matured beyond keeping the women in the kitchen all day; they have to do other housework too). They're both dirty feminazis with their fight against the phallocentric hegemony. How dare they try to shake the system like that!

Evil MIL doesn't want HS & JK to move out because they have the gold bars. I bet money if they had given the gold bars back to her when they found them in the car, she could care less where they lived. It just bothers her to no end that they have them and that they even gave some to HS's parents. She's spending all my money, oh no!

What did ESM mean when she told HS that she had better start watching her tongue due to her current situation? I don't think the situation meant her pregnancy. Does ESM has some info on HS that others don't know about? I think it got to HS because the next day she was vacuuming and washing the floor . For once...I'd LOVE to see ESM on her hands and knees washing the floor. DD doesn't like seeing ESM doing work, yet he forces his pregnant DIL to do it just because she's the DIL and ESM is his wife? What a jerk.

I thought she was just reminding her of the circumstances under which she became a member of the family. But I also wondered if she was maybe referring to the "fact" that [she thinks] Hee-soo has been giving money and gold to her parents. I thought that because that seems to be all that's on ESM's mind these days.
This will sound odd, but I am glad to see Hee-soo so horribly depressed that she tells herself, "It's all your fault; just be like a dead person," and that, when Jin-kook, for his own reasons, tells her to go work in the kitchen with ESM, she sees it as betrayal and calls him "Traitor." I see this as potentially a step forward, for when she gives into the depression and stops fighting, they are all going to feel terrible and possibly realize that that's not what they want their DIL's life to be like after all. All they've been thinking about is how they want her to behave and how *they* want to be treated, but if giving up and giving in is the only way she can bring herself do it, maybe they will see that their expectations are too much. The idea that ESM has been manipulating DD is now in the air, and I definitely see a "poor Hee-soo/curséd ESM" scenario developing.

...and that, when Jin-kook, for his own reasons, tells her to go work in the kitchen with ESM, she sees it as betrayal and calls him "Traitor." Aigu! Don't even get me started on this scene. I was so pissed off at Jinkook that I would have slapped him if I were her. Wtf? If you care so much about family peace and about ESM getting dinner ready on time get your a$$ into the kitchen.
