After trashing The Phoenix so much I find myself kind of missing it. There's no one to make fun of anymore.

I feel the same way. That sad music keeps playing over and over in my mind. I better invest in the soundtrack! I even found myself in the Soompi forums today, browsing through the Eric thread. I think he went to high school in California! Someone posted his prom picture, and his yearbook picture. Sheesh, I've got it bad! Damo helps, though. I'm happy to see Will twice a week!

That's true. But Will is someone you swoon over, not make fun of.
Anybody remember anything funny from the Phoenix?

But Will is someone you swoon over, not make fun of. Oh, Will is for swooning, Eric is for mocking. I'd NEVER mock my Will.

Well, I would try making fun of Damo (because that's my response to it), but I don't want to anger the people on the board. I am the only person on Earth who isn't enjoying it!

I am the only person on Earth who isn't enjoying it! I'm in the middle. It's a good story, great cast but it's moving along maybe too quickly for me. I sometimes get confused (followed by irritation) which makes me enjoy it less. Give it some time, either way it's still better than anything American TV has to offer. Off topic--has anybody watched Desperate Housewifes? Is it any good? I've only caught the second ep. so far.

No, I haven't seen the housewife show, but I hear it's a big hit.
About Damo, it just irks me. Granted that I've only watched 1-1/2 episodes, I don't understand the plot. And the fighting and flying that everyone thinks is cool just bothers the heck out of me. Maybe I'm too old for it.

I'm not much of a flying warrior fan either. It's same as an Asian comic book, which I don't read, only more expensive. Maybe we should start something for "The Great Jang-geum" fans.. I'm still thinking about creating that audio-dubbed version soon or later.. I can already feel Damo fans flying over the rooftops..

About Damo, it just irks me. Personally, I'm used to the flying and the fighting but I can understand where you guys are coming from. The thing, for me at least, is there's a lot more to Damo than just the flying and fighting. Some of my favorite parts from the drama are scenes where the characters are just sitting down and talking. Damo isn't heavy on dialogue but some meaningful things are said, including during some of the fighting scenes. The response for Damo seems generally positive so far. However, I thought it'd be better considering the amount of interest there was in KBS 'The Legend of the Nine-Tailed Fox'. The 2 dramas are fairly similar. I don't know if part of it is because people haven't seen this kind of drama before. I mean, I tried to stress the point that Damo was different from other dramas. Not because it's the only drama of its kind but because these types of dramas aren't normally aired here in Chicago. Personally, I don't consider Damo a historical drama. Everybody else I've spoken to does so I started calling it a historical drama as well. I mean, Damo is based on a comic book series and there's only one actual character in the drama who existed in Korean history. That being King Sook Jong. I think Damo is more Sci-fi Fantasy. I'd put SBS 'Love For A Thousand Years' and KBS 'The Legend of the Nine-Tailed Fox' under that category as well. Anyway, I hope that even if you don't like the flying and fighting, that you'll (and by that I mean everyone who's reading this) give Damo a chance. The drama gets much better as it goes along. Also, like I mentioned before, I hope people can see beyond the flying and fighting because there's a lot more to Damo than just that.

Do you know where in Cali? Man, he was so great and EVIL. I miss the show too. And I was kind of mad about how it ended. That's all right. All hail Damo - maybe we could start a "making fun of Damo" thread, because even though I like the show, sometimes it's fun to make fun of it anyway.
