Sat. night, 9/19's episode was #21 in Chicago, which means (I believe) that there are only 5 episodes left to this drama. So, does anyone know yet which drama will air next in this time slot combination? Will it be modern-day or historical? Just wondering.........

Hmm .. this is just a guess on my part but I think it'll be the KBS miniseries "Full House" starring Bi & Song Hye Gyo. It's a modern day drama. I, personally, don't care much for it but it was pretty popular in Korea. Again, I'm just guessing though.
It's a shame that KBS "I'm Sorry, I Love You" or MBC "Warm Night in December" haven't started yet.

I called KBC a few days ago and was told Admiral Yi Soon Shin (spelling?) will follow Phoenix. They want to subtitle it but are not sure if that will happen. Usually you can go to soompi to get translations or story recaps. Velvet InkBrush has done some translations of the first few Admiral Yi episodes (which are available now in Korea and on vod). We may have to rely on such stratagems if KBC does not provide subtitles.

You can read Velvet InkBrush's Admiral Yi's first 5 episode translations on the "Other Shows" forum.

Hmm .. I thought they would keep the historical dramas in the 8pm timeslot on Monday's & Tuesday's. It's all good though. I'm wondering what will air on Monday's & Tuesday's then.

As far as I know it's going to be "The Age of Heroes" (Yeongwoong Sidae) replacing The Phoenix timeslot. You can find preliminary information on this drama at www.koreanwiz.org/at/drama-ageofheroes.html. I guess you could call it modern-day historical drama. If I'm not mistaken I *THINK* it's about one of the chae-bols (plutocrats?), namely the founder of Hyundai. You can find a synopsis at www.mbcpro.co.kr/CC/synopsis/public_html/english/pg/detail.asp?idx=72. And I think a historical drama series about General Yi Soon-shin is replacing The Age of Warriors. I'm only telling you this from the conversations I had with the programming director at KBC 28, so please don't make me start writing disclaimers.. <grin>

Oddly enough, that plutocrat drama sounds pretty good. (I heard about it awhile ago, somewhere around here...)
Do we know about subtitling? Er, Michael?

Hi! I'm back after a long hiatus due to many different personal circumstances. Plus, I never really "got into" The Phoenix. I watched it the first couple of weeks and just never really enjoyed it, forgot it was on (a sure sign it wasn't for me), etc.
Anyway, this new possible replacement (Age of Heroes) sounds good to me. As I'm sure everyone wants, I do hope so very much it's subtitled!!!!
Also, is there a schedule of ch. 28 shows anywhere? I can't remember now. I did email the Chicago SunTimes a while back to request they put KBC in their local listings. I think I'll email yahoo TV as well.
Cheers, Colette

I hope it is historical. Nothing can beat the Great Jang Geum, but I love the costume dramas rather than modern ones. I am hooked on The Phoenix here in Chicagoland, but would love another like Jang Geum. I catch the Age of Warriors once a week and like it as well. Channel 28 is never advertised in TV Guide locally, so I just tune in and hope for subtitles. I wish I could understand some of the game shows that come on before The Phoenix. They are a "kick" to watch with people singing and wearing weird "ears costumes" and I have no idea what is going on! Ha Ha.

I am hooked on The Phoenix here in Chicagoland, but would love another like Jang Geum. Technically, The Age of Heroes is a historical drama. However, it's nothing like Jang Geum or The Age of Warriors. The story is set in much more modern times. official site: www.imbc.com/broad/tv/drama/hero/index.html
