I missed Friday's and Saturday's episodes (8/13 and 14), but I set my machine to tape them Monday and Tuesday. Well, I guess I have no idea when it's supposed to start or if it starts on time, but I only got bits and pieces of what happened. In addition, my reception was extremely poor on those 2 days, and I couldn't read the subtitles. So, I can't really tell the sequence of events because of the hit-and-miss nature of the tapes I got. Could I please have just a bare-bones outline of the main points--who did what to whom and when? Here's what I know: the American Salman Rushdie-like guy (thanks, Ken and Joanie, for that comparison!), who I've decided talks like an "actor" in an industrial training film, wants Ji-eun to take care of the merger. (yeah, right.) Somehow Mi-ran is even angrier at JE. Eric caught Se-hoon in JE's hotel room after the big party where SH sang that song everyone liked, and he's so angry that he storms out, punches SH's lights out (almost), and proceeds to drink copiously and steadily for two days with no apparent hangover. Thanks so much for any clarification you can provide. I have to go out of town starting tonight, through the weekend, so, with 28's inscrutable airing schedule, I can just imagine how confused I'm going to be next week when I try to catch up!

Friday: It shows the merger talks, the acceptance and the american asking for Ji-eun to head the merger team. They bring her in and she thinks it's a compliment but isn't sure whether to take it. Eric and Will both try to convince her to take it.
That night, there's a celebratory party, and karaoke fun is had by all. Well, the american and Will, who are both bad singers, but they cover up Will's song with the one by the real singer. I think it's the same song that she played for him when they were first at Jeju island when she was seducing him. Stares between the two, Mi-ran sees them and is pissed, but stays quiet.
After the party Ji-eun and Eric walk back to her hotel room, chatting, and he tries to convince her (again) to take the job.
Meanwhile, Will is going up to her hotel room; he tries the door and it's unlocked so he goes in, starts snooping, and finds her pen that looks like his. Then Eric and Ji-eun go to her room and say goodnight; Will hears the door opening and hides, she comes in and is ever-so-surprised. Eric decides that he forgot to say something, I'm not sure why (maybe he had her cell phone because he looks at it immediately before going back) and returns. He opens the door, finds them, and is understandably angry. He starts to leave, Will starts to follow, Ji-eun starts to follow and Will tells her to stay back, calling her dear, which is when Eric gets really angry and runs out.
They meet outside and Eric punches Will and few dozen times. Ji-eun follows and tries to talk to Eric but he tells her to shut up and leaves. Will and Ji-eun talk and he says that she's taking it rather well. Then there are shots of all three of them being depressed: Eric, drinking outside on the lawn, Ji-eun sobbing in her room, and Will staring at the sea.
The next day they leave Jeju island and Eric disses both Will and Ji-eun (and basically everyone else) at the airport. Will stops to try to talk to Ji-eun, who passes him without acknowledgement, so he stares at her, at which point Mi-ran faints (fake, obviously).
Back in Seoul, Eric and Will go into the office, Eric disses him again, and Will finds out that many things have been taken by Eric - the merger file and such things. He has his secretary call to have Eric bring them and Eric's says for him to come and get them himself, at which point Will storms to Eric's office.
Saturday: See-hoon walks into Eric's office and they have a little snit-fight about who's more in control. Later, Eric stomps out of the office and building and runs into Ji-eun, who is waiting for him. He snubs her by walking past her and pretending he doesn't see her and then her and Will's eyes connect "meaningfully". She says to Eric that they need to talk but he ignores that. She and Will talk and he apologizes again and says that she should not consider rejecting the job offer since it is for her own benefit and she can't let opportunities pass by.
Later, Eric and Mi-ran are in a cafe and she shows that she can lift up her legs and says "when Will finds out, what will his reaction be?" implying that he might run back to Ji-eun. She then tells him not to lose something he loves because of his pride.
Eric waits for Ji-eun and basically forgives her. They go to the park, she ruminates about how she will love him so that he is not hurt in the future (ooh, *sacrificial* phoenix love). He then takes her shopping for new clothes for her new job. They go out to lunch, coincidentally (?), at the same restaurant where his father, step mother, Mi-ran, Will and Mi-ran's father are eating. They talk and then they go to their own table. In the bathroom at the restaurant, the stepmother overhears her and Mi-ran talking, at which point Mi-ran says that she's lucky to get Eric, considering the fact that she's divorced. The stepmother then, ever-so-casually, spills the news to her husband when they're leaving the restaurant and he has a conniption.
Eric and Ji-eun are talking in his car when she gets a phone call from a mysterious person who she agrees to meet immediately. She goes back to Seo-lin and meets with Eric's father who tells her that she is trash who cannot marry his son. Eric bursts in and yells at his dad for insulting her (their relationship is more and more like Ji-eun's and See-hoon's) and drags her out past Will, who, again, stares at her adoringly.

Wow! Hachiue, you did such a fantastic job with those summaries, much more than I deserve. It is really odd seeing it laid out in order because of the jumbled-up way I got it the first time. I sure missed a lot. Thank you SO MUCH! Lucy

P.S. Why did Eric and Mi-ran go to a cafe, and why on earth would she show him that she can move her legs? That's powder-keg-type info; I'm surprised she would let it out. Maybe she feels that, since both of them hate the connection between Ji-eun and Se-hoon, he'll be on her side in the battle to keep SH tied to MR's wheelchair.

Maybe she feels that, since both of them hate the connection between Ji-eun and Se-hoon, he'll be on her side in the battle to keep SH tied to MR's wheelchair. BINGO, girly-girl. When he left the cafe and said she was "scary," she inside-thought, he'd already gotten caught in the swamp. hachuie did a wonderful job with the recap, but I think she missed a scene (this may have happened before this weekend, but I think not). At some point, Mi-ran came to Ji-eun's room, all in a tizz about her new job, and tried to slap her. Ji-eun grabbed her hand before she was able to do that (exactly like Jang-geum stopped Lady Choi's last slap in DJG). She then told Mi-ran to get out, that she did not have time for "this" (hysterics). It's the first time she didn't just take the punishment and look guilty, and it was rather refreshing. Bo

Oh yeah that was on Friday. I was having trouble remembering everything - I would forget scenes and then have to go and add them in. Thanks for the addition.
I thought that was rather clear-headed of Eric to realize that she was crazy. He still took her advice though. And I don't see why he would hide it from Ji-eun unless he is now becoming a master manipulator like the rest of them.

Even though hachiue has provided you w/an excellent recap, it took me forever to type this up (busy at work) so I will reply to your query anyway. Caught up w/ep. 10 yesterday so I will give you a report on that. Okay so Seo is looking at my Will and JE tells him that he was just thanking SH for saving her the day before. Then Seo says she is taking a long time to do that. Miran comes into the hallway and tells Seo that to misunderstand a situation is a foolish thing. So Seo apologizes and says that he is sorry that he got jealous.
Next we see Rosman and his goons across the table from the Seo Lin group. They are still debating the contract and my Will tells them not to worry that they (Seo Lin) are going to make them #1 in the business. We see scenes of JE doing all sorts of tasks, from cleaning to preparing snacks for them. That’s when Rosman says that he wants her to be in charge of the merger (speaking of which, this makes absolutely no sense to me, wouldn’t he rather have someone with actual legal experience. Even if he knew she was college educated, she majored in fashion design, she’s not even a paralegal!) so Seo is happy that she is going to be working with them. JE knows it’s a good opportunity but is still hesitant to take the offer.
Next, they are celebrating the merger and Rosman is crooning away at the mike and man is he a bad singer, I rewound the tape at least three times and then my stomach started hurting from all the laughing, he invited my Will to sing and he sings that song that Jie-un and he use to listen to all the time. Not sure if it is Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin. Seo tells JE that he wants to know what the secret she’s hiding is, she assures him she’ll tell him and that she will understand if he doesn’t want to see her after that. He assures her that that will never happen.
Miran throws a hissy fit when she realizes what Rosman’s request is. He tells my Will that he’s a horrible person for making her go through all of this. Then he tells her that it is only work.
Seo drops Jieun off at her hotel room gives her some cheesy line about seeing her in dream land. Before this though my Will has slipped unnoticed into her room. When she realizes that he’s in her room she tells him to please leave. Then he tells her to only think about herself and accept the offer. Seo realizes that he still has JE’s cell phone and goes back to give it to her. He opens her door and sees them both standing here and he finally gets a clue my Will wants Seo and him to talk outside, JE says she’ll go to but he let’s slip “No, you stay here, dear.” (sounded wonderful).
Seo ineffectively punches my Will, he barely gets a bloody lip, and he’s going around drinking, hanging around the karaoke w/floozies and is basically doing everything he can to defy my Will.

(LOL) (Okay, now I'm opening up myself to charges of being old.) See here: deiner.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=bird&action=display&thread=1092615236Your post is otherwise deee-lightful. I wish they'd had "The Chairman" singing "My Way"--dreadful an old chestnut as it is--instead of Rosman. I was laughing pretty hard, too. Bo

Thanks Bo, I had actually only heard about Perry Como. Actually not even that, when we moved into our house a couple of years ago (and this is certainly no reflection on your age) the previous owner had been this older lady and we took out about three crates full of Perry Como albums. Wish I would have known you then, we threw them out.
He’s a pretty good singer though, very rich deep voice.

Galacticchick, aka Pucca, , thank you very much for that addition! It explained a lot that was still puzzling me. I didn't answer before this because I was away for the weekend and needed to watch my Phoenix tapes before getting on the board, lest I spoil something for myself. Many, many thanks! Lucy

Lucy You are quite welcome. Pucca is cute isn't she? I'm so distraught--I don't know if you got a chance to see the Paris collection of HK handbags at the Northbridge shop. Well anyway I was going to get it today and I was pushing people left and right to go get it and come back from lunch on time when they tell me they've run out and all they have is the lousy cosmetic pouch. I'm so sad! I called almost all 142 locations sanrio.com lists in their website for Illinois but nobody seems to have this purse. Not very related to any of this but I just had to share.

Oh, I'm so sorry!! I understand the burning need for a certain HK item because you've been waiting for it and know they're going to run out. But talk to the manager (Brigitta, I think)--sometimes they reorder the good stuff. That's what they did with those cute sets of HK chopstick rests--the ones where she's lying down and her back is where you rest the chopsticks. I didn't see the Paris collection, BTW. Good luck! Lucy

That's an idea, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. I had to laugh at the face I must've mad when I didn't see it. Panicked, confused, angry and finally sad. The Paris Collection kind of looks like the Louis Vouitton white bags everybody seems to be carrying around. Except that miss Kitty is classy and had to make the knock-off not be so obvious. The purse was white with gold-ish handles and in the leather it had the Eiffel Tower with HK dressed in a cute dress and hat.

Oh, wait! I think I did see that about two weeks ago. I thought the overall design was great, but I didn't like the rendering of Kitty on it. I think I saw an Eiffel Tower on there, too. Is that the one where she's on the phone and has actual legs? I only like her with the stumpy paw-like legs, not when she has the longer, more human legs. (Creeps me out a little.)

That’s the collection but the purse is much cuter because it doesn’t show her w/human legs. I didn’t care for it either. Hello Kitty is the icon of cute, not sexy. I was disappointed that they felt she needed to be “tramped” up. Also, I like her in dresses, not pants. How chauvinistic, I know.
