I have seen what appears to be food on tables in some scenes, but it seems either someone throws it over, or a peccadillo breaks up the gathering before anyone eats. Has anyone seen eating on the show, and if not, who will be first to eat? What would you think each character would prefer (outside of the green cups)?

I've seen three: EWG, DOE, and AOW. They never touch the food. They only drink. Che Won drunk a s***load of wine. ANd remember Kwon Hyun in EWG. He was drunk 24/7! But i remember one time in EWG were it looked like they were drinking milk. I drank rice wine, and i know what it looks like. They are not drinking real wine.

yep we always see them drink, sometimes even pretend drinking cuz i saw the cup empty =P I think they cant eat any food because remember, if something goes wrong, they'll have to get them new food cuz of retake. They gona end up eating 50 pork chops a day =P beside the food would get cold, and most of the talking are usually spilting at each other, who wants to eat something that few people spilt on

Actually, there was one character who you saw eat quite frequently - Che Won!! Those who missed the early programs unfortuantely did not see the funniest character this side of Monkey Man. In one episode, Yi Ko thinks Yi Ui-Bang has done something terrible to his friend only to find him devouring some poultry whole in a manner reminiscent of seals clubbing fish on rocks. Another time he was sitting at a table outside Yi Ko's estate (to protect him from Yi Ui-Bang) devouring parts of some other poor bird when Yi Ui-Bang tells him he is supposed to be at the palace protecting the Emperor. Che Won responded by pulling a bone out of his mouth and saying "You deposed an emperor and you're talking to me about protocol?" Boy I miss the early episodes. I think I'll pull my tapes out and watch.

And BTW I saw some guy eating in episode 132 during the banquet celebrating the Choi Bros. making Merit Subject. But he was a minor character so I guess they didn't mind him having some dinner! ;D

yo can't be eating if you have a speaking role
koreans don't believe in talking while you eat. you talk over fruit when the meal is over
kinda eerie eating in total silence - unless there's soju at dinner - then that's a different story

yeah, talking while eating is something you only do when the mood is light. not when you're planning rebellions and hits and stuff
