yea. *nods* this couple is really the comedy of thise show, and i am glad nothing bad happens to them cuz they are the closest to JG already!! ^^ the aunt herself actually cares a lot of JG, i remb this part where she complains and ask her husband when did JG and Sir Min get so close and the husband say dun talk nonsense... but then afterwards, she warns JG that she is a palace maid. =) and also, the uncle, every time says : 'that woman looks like JG, oh wait! she is JG!!' ^-^;;; hahahaa LOL! yes ive watched that part earlier! and duk gu's wife said something like "but it's just natural for a man and a woman to have feelings for each other" something like that, (im not sure siince it was dubbed in our language) so correct me if im wrong! i laughed so much watching tat part XD mrs. kang sure is funny, i love thier characters so much!

Ahahaha! My fave part with Duk-gu was the part when he was eating duck soup with his wife everyday! ;D lol. And also the time when he (w/ his wife) was complaining that Jang Geum isn't visiting them anymore (when JG was already a doctor)

Hahaha! That's so funny!
Hey da chang jin lover, do you know the part when Mrs. Kang said "Hey we eat only duck soup everyday, in three months I'm getting tired of it! In fact, I feel like throwing up when I see duck soup!!!"
I liked that part coz they were so funny! Then the wife only noticed later on: "Darling, the child is inside!" Hahah!
The scene when his wife wanted to eat strawberries: Wife: Ahh... I feel like eating strawberries... Duk-gu: Strawberries? Wife: Yeah. It seems like out baby wanted to eat strawberries. Duk-gu: Let me see if he really said strawberies. *he listened to the sounds in his wife's womb and smiled at her* He said pears. Wife: You don't want to get me strawberries? Huh? Huh?! Duk-gu: Yea right...
And... when Duk-gu told Jang Geum the sad fate of their second baby, he was so funny, he was crying (but it doesn't seem like he's crying coz his voice sounds like he's always kidding): "Just not long after you left, we had a baby, but not long after he was living in his mother, THE CHILD DIED!!!!!!!"
I just love it when it is Duk-gu's scene. They come just in time when things are getting so serious and dramatic. Perfect timing, always! ;D

I laugh when I'd recount all those events where he tries to explain everything in full and painful details even if it's just a simple question, right from the beginning, even if it's an emergency. Uncle is such a crazy man! ;D

well aside from those...i find it really funny when it comes to money matters..especially the time when the wife asked for the salary of DJG just after DJG got paralyzed (happened after she discovered the true cause of the prince's paralysis...the combination of ginseng and another spice)...wat added to the humor of it was it was lady han who told jang geum about the wife's whims.. ;D

A little out out of point, but I really love it whenever Lady Han was amused by JG's foster parents. It just shows how close all of them grow to one another.
The night when Duk Gu was walking with Lady Han in search of cordyceps, Duk Gu told Lady Han that he had never walked with his wife so deep into the night. Later on, when both Lady Han and Duk Gu were watching JG go through the competition, Duk Gu became so excited over JG's triumph that in his excitement he grabbed Lady Han's hanbok. I have read quite a few articles about Duk Gu's little, very very subtle 'crush' on Lady Han. Not sure if it is evident to you, but it sure adds warmth to the storyline, especially to the painful life of Lady Han.
I thought Duk Gu was very funny when he tried to describe the way Lady Han's boat had gone in the opposite direction. I was so scared and angry, but he made me laugh in spite of myself.

yes, i simply love them. they are funny, they are kind (esp. du gu, not so for the wife).without them the show would be too sad. without them, DJG will be too lonely and sorrowful should she need help.
i especially enjoy their acting.

Duk Gu is a scoundrel whose redeeming features are his kind-heartedness and fear of his vicious wife. I am also extremely happy everytime he and his wife make an appearance on the show.
I've only just started watching the series, but my favorite scenes so far are when Duk Gu goes to the palace to deliver his liquor and he has a hidden tray full of trinkets for the court ladies to buy, as well as an erotic picture book, supposedly from Ming China. But his transanction is interrupted by Lady Han so he has to bluff away his activity by saying that the book was actually a cook book the girls were interested in seeing. Lady Han naturally also wants to see it, but he tells her that the book is boring because it has no pictures in it! When she leaves, you find out that it is actually something he fabricated himself as he congratulates himself on his artistry as he admires the drawings inside. The man clearly has many talents :-)
My second favorite scene are when Duk Gu and his wife are trying to write down one of her secret recipes to help Jang Geum before the cooking competition to allow her to become a court lady. Except she can't remember how to cook it unless she pretends she is cooking it for real. So she starts off by criticizing Duk Gu's choice of ingredients and haranging his incompetence as usual. Duk Gu gets so into it that he naturally starts apologising as usual until he is reminded to write down what she is saying. Classic stuff ;-)
