So Peter Kang is letting Min-jae stay, but true to the byzantine ways of this soap, he tells Yu-jin and In-hwan but not Min-jae. But instead of leaping for joy and telling MJ and the rest of the family, both those parties knit their brows and act even more troubled. What the h-ll is the issue here? Why is this news cause for even more worry and tension? Am I the only one who feels like she's missing something?

Not at all, I was having an altered discussion with the TV about it. ;D
I'd think they'd want to tell him so that MJ wouldn't resent them.
This drama is lacking some serious logic.

I suppose this is all resolved for you guys now, but I'll "answer" anyway. (1) Peter didn't tell MJ so MJ would not try to follow him, to keep his promise; that's why he was sneaking out of town. (2) Yu-jin and In-huan thought they were doing wrong because MJ was not getting an opportunity to say goodbye or thank Peter, and he was also not having the opportunity to make his own decisions.
(And yes--Peter found his conscience, deep down in his heart.)
I liked it.

or 3 his birthfather runs out on him again abandoning him again, peter no doubt does it this way to avoid feeling bad himself , yet again putting himself before his own son who he swore upnd down he loved. peter was living in his own dream for years of getting his son back..which meant buying him back to peter, not seeing or wondering about how to actually handle it asa father or even human being, it was his dram subconciously driven by revenge on inwhan and soon young.." i bought the stocks becacuse i thought they would come in handy one day ms lee made it happen sooner.and also i cannot stop this ,it is out of spite for you soon young, he is a true socio path

or 3 his birthfather runs out on him again ... Wow, lucky, I thought you LIKED this show (LOL)! I think that's kind of an uncharitable interpretation of Peter's final actions. Yes, he had the wrong idea when he came into town, but he'd been nursing a grudge all those years. Finally, he came to admit he was wrong about what he was doing and how he was trying to do it. I thought they redeemed him rather well at the end. If they could forgive Hye-ran's father for killing Hyung-kyu's mother, I think they could forgive Peter Kang for trying to get his son back in a wrongheaded way. They even forgave Rainbow Aunt, and she wasn't even really sorry. Bo
