I think Yu-jin just finally broke out of her funk. She really can't blame Granny or anybody for the miscarriage. I think she was doubting Min-jae's love for her, on top of all that was going on. I found Min-jae's lifelong secret crush on her to be quite a surprise! Actually I see YJ from her dad's point of view. She's smart, and she knows how to do the right thing.

I found Min-jae's lifelong secret crush on her to be quite a surprise! Actually I see YJ from her dad's point of view. She's smart, and she knows how to do the right thing. She understood Min-jae's character (she knew that he was sincere, for one thing...), and she just needed that one reassurance...that Min-jae would forsake everyone else for her, putting her way above everyone else...and once he told her so...she didn't need anymore convincing...she could withstand another crazed assault from Kwei-boon because she knew Min-jae would be behind her 100 percent...as well as her in-laws......Besides, I am convinced she really did want to live in the Oh household (no problem finding a babysitter!)....it wasn't just for Min-jae's sake, plus they didn't have to pay rent....Talk about all the savings!

Personally, I don't see it as an example of low self-esteem or as a sign of masochistic tendencies....Although she herself is guilty of improper action or of errors of judgement, I don't see it in this case....As it has been stated before, what she truly wanted was to see where she stood in Min-jae's life, especially in this situation where these two didn't have regular romantic relationship before they got married....On the surface, if people didn't know her true feelings for Min-jae, they might even think that this was an arranged marriage. It also helped when Soon-young spoke to her at the office, and even that friendly phone call from Eun-ji...At least, she knew she could rely on her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law for moral support...and there was genuine love and affection btw her and the other two...And of course, Yu-jin was definitely touched by Min-jae's little notes and letters in the can, especially when he reminisced about their past encounters...and this coming from a man she knew had a hard time expressing his feelings...here he was writing some very sincere and deep words of love to her....Min-jae may have his faults, but insincerity isn't one of them.... And last but not least, that conversation at the cafe; we cannot downplay how important and was to her, when he spoke to her from the heart...... And looking at the other factors, there was also the strong disapproval coming from Yu-jin's parents, especially her father who understood the depth of feeling she had for Min-jae, and he also knew the story of how she managed to get him to marry her, and the behind-the-scenes stuff she did, trying to create an even wider gulf btw Min-jae and Hye-ran... Dong-pyo's words may seem a bit harsh but in effect he was saying: "You made your bed, now lie in it!" If she had fallen out of love, then one can understand her divorcing him...but if she had proceeded knowing she still loved him and understanding now that he truly loved her and would forsake his family and Joyland to be with her, and by this divorce, knowing that she was acting against the wishes of her own parents, Yu-jin would certainly live to regret it, just like those other women in real life, who dumped their otherwise good husbands, only to realize later on that these guys were the ones right for them all along.... For Yu-jin, all the reasons, the grievances she had about Min-jae and the Oh family were pretty much being dealt with, accordingly.....So what could possibly motivate her to still leave Min-jae...Perhaps it is PRIDE...but lest we forget, PRIDE is still one of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS...and no good ever came from them.... In a way it reminded me of Sang-min and Min-jo in YH...she divorced him not because she fell out of love, but because he mishandled a delicate family situation, choosing what his father wanted instead of what she wanted......When Min-jo found out that her ex-husband had cancer, she rushed to his side, and whatever ill feelings they had for each other evaporated..... Yu-jin divorcing Min-jae would be something like that.... but if she were to find out that he was suffering from an incurable illness, she would rush to him in a minute....

LOL! I very much doubt it would be Kwei-boon who would provide the childcare. No doubt that responsibility would fall on Young-soon's shoulders. If it was Hyung-kyu's child, Granny might spoil it a little, but still, I doubt she'd do much work taking care of it. That's what her daughter-in-law is for I guess!

Keum-ja, definitely Keum-ja for me! I saw the episode yesterday where Dong-pyo reamed Yu-jin, and when she got the love notes from Min-jae. I cried like a baby, and this soap hasn't affected me like that for awhile. I don't blame her for going back to him. It was excellently done. Bo PS - Hey, Jade, hi! Haven't seen you in awhile. We missed you.

Yes, a Soon-young, Mal-bong, or Keum-ja-type grannie would DEFINITELY be most agreeable. Tell-tale signs of an UN-desirable Korean grannie figure? If they say things like "do you want this old woman to die?" or ride around in a (chauffeured) black Mercedes a la Aunty Evil aka Myung-joo! ;D So remember to put them through a comprehensive personal interview and driving test...

The scene w/ Yu-jin reading Min-jae's love notes from the cookie jar had me in tears, too. I was so glad the nornally reserved almost to the point of being made of stone MJ dug deep down and found the emotions in his heart to tell YJ the words she needed to hear to stay committed to him. Long overdue. Thanks, Bo. We bought a new house and are in the process of moving. That's why I've had so little time for the MB lately. I appreciate your words of welcome, but I have a suspicion if you missed me, you were the only one. Still, I appreciate what you said nonetheless. Jade Eyes

I appreciate your words of welcome, but I have a suspicion if you missed me, you were the only one. Hey, Jade, I missed ya too! Okay, maybe we got a little argumentative now and then, but your posts are always thought-provoking and insightful. I never miss checking out a new Jade Eyes post. So, don’t be a stranger, okay?

(quote taken from my favorite, Forest Gump).[ Oh, gal-ck, I just thought you were doing one of those "objective correlative" things--you know, where you make the story boring because it's about a boring person? So, you made the thread title stupid... Oh, I'm kidding you. Bo
