With so many actors from 'So This is Love' in OMR, I decided to pull out my tape of the final episode of that show. It brought back memories of Just how much I liked that show. It remains my number two fave, after YH.
So far, OMR seems to be rather like 'This is Love' in tone. YH was a tear-jerker from the get-go (started off with a funeral (memorial, actually); lead character's fiance leaves her and her mother dies in the first two weeks), but OMR seems to be a little lighter so far.
One thing I have to wonder about is the casting of Lee Chang Hoon and Yoon Hae Young as two of the leads, when they played a couple who got married on 'This is Love'. Can Yu-jin get Min-jae, when Hoon-sook already got Joon-bum?

I know I am rooting for Yu-jin, only because Hoon-sook and Joon-bum made such a great couple in So This is love! I already resent the squeaky-voiced parade director (I haven't memorized her name yet ) for getting in Yu-jin's way. But I am happy to see that Min-jae's character is a little more cheerful than Joon-bum's character, and Yu-jin is more bold than the mouselike Hoon-sook. YH was so intense, it is kind of nice to watch a lighthearted K drama this time. Most of the daily dramas I have seen are more like dramedys, not as serious as YH was in nearly every scene (with the exception of Dear Encounter, which I hated!). YH was the best drama I had ever seen, but OMR is more like the dramas I'm used to watching.

Actually, I thought that the intensity of YH was what made it such an outstanding drama. I agree that OMR is a lot like “This is Love,” which was a drama I enjoyed watching, but wasn’t really fanatic about. So far, I’ve got the same feelings about OMR – good, but nothing fabulous. It doesn’t keep me on the edge of my seat the way YH did.
I do like Yu-jin, though: smart, confident, great looks, rich family . . . what’s not to like? She must have been really rough on Min-jae in their childhood years for him to push a choice woman like her away.
BTW, I do remember “Dear Encounter,” and it did indeed have some of those intense YH characteristics. I really loved DE . . . right up until that dreadful ending! I’m so glad that YH ended well.

The intensity of YH wasn't a bad thing, but it is a breath of fresh air to watch something silly (after feeling so bad for JaYoung for so long). And the ending of Dear Encounter is what soured me on my opinion of the series, although hearing that I wasn't the only one who was upset by the finale is reassuring! I thought there was something wrong with me, since the characters in the series made it seem like that was the right solution. Even the jilted boyfriend understood! Marrying your rapist who you were switched at birth with to make things easier on your family during the holidays?! The worst ending ever. (Should it be whom instead of who? My grammar be so bad sometimes, I must have been home sick that day in school)
