I just thought I'd let everyone know (in case you're interested) that Maya, the actress that plays the role of Kyung Mi, won the best new female artist award at the 2003 MNET Music Festival (one of many award shows in Korea) on Thursday, November 27.

Well, Mannan, it sure looks like you’re a “Bodyguard” fan, big time.
That’s cool, but for most of us lurking around here, we watched it, like, two years ago, and memories do fade. Did you just watch it somewhere? And, if so, where was that?
Looking back, I recall that I really liked Yu-jin (I’ve always loved actress Han Go-eun, though in her current role as an aggressive but slightly ditzy legal secretary in the MBC drama “Lawyers,” I have to say I’ve seen her do better work elsewhere). Also, like you, I was very pleasantly surprised by Maya. Rarely do singers make great actors/actresses, but I have to say that Maya did just fine in “Bodyguard,” thank you.
And, looking over KoreanWiz’s page on “Bodyguard,” she notes that actor Song Il Kook (who was flat-out fantastic as the ruthless but pure-hearted pirate in “Emperor of the Sea”) had a leading role as bad-guy Han Sung-su – and yet I can just barely remember him! Looks like I may have to dig out my old VHS tapes and give “Bodyguard” another spin someday, huh?
Alas, though, I thought that the ending was a bit of a letdown. At the time, I wondered if they were setting us up for a “Bodyguard 2,” but obviously that was not to be. So disappointing when a really good drama show concludes in such a peculiar manner!
I still give “Bodyguard” a solid “B” score – but a little better ending would have guaranteed it an “A” from mikey, for sure.
