June 19th, Saturday, is fine with me too.
Since Albie and Chigirl68 volunteered, they will be in charge of coordinating this effort. I will help in any way I can.
This gathering shouldn't be limited for Jang-geum fans. It's for everyone.

We also need a location to have this. Any ideas? Oh, I was also wondering what people's expectations of this are. Daytime festival or nighttime hang out.

There's a tea shop i went to once, i think it's near Sawyer & Bryn Mawr. Also, i mentioned Jang Geum, because it would be worth it to actually WATCH a show with people. Otherwise, my wife & i probably may not have that much time to hang out. So there's my thoughts...

Ok I'll help set it up, and it will be on June 19th. Chirgirl, I'll email you later to work out the details. I think this will be fun!

Oooh! I vote for a tea shop! But I'm sure Albie and Chigirl will come up with something good. May I suggest a "survey" question to see how many people can attend? Also, perhaps a "reminder" post/invitation to the individual show boards.

I hope to god someone brings some Soju and is willing to share with a minor. That seems unlikely. And illegal. Bo

I like the tea shop idea and I think I know where it is. I'll set up the poll later. I'm suppose to be working right now.

That seems unlikely. And illegal. Bo Uhhh...maybe he means the moderator...? Well, if there are any minors that feel like they just NEED to have alcohol, just call this number: 312-346-1475 They'll hook you up with what you need.

I need to book my flights and hotel coz I do wanna make it to the Chicago Group Viewing of DJG. I do agree that of all the shows, DJG is the one that is worthy of eliciting a group viewing. I know it revitalized my Korean drama viewing experience this season (after having been exhausted by Wang Gun, Dawn of Empire, and Yeoin Cheonha/Ladies of the Palace--although the last one trained me to watch Jeoson-era dramas W/OUT subtitles! ;D). I know for sure it led me to watch OMR, for the sheer pleasure of watching familiar actors (and yes, to be able to doubly focus my hatred on Lady Choi/Myung-Joo (RH)--hating once is cool, but twice is nice! ;D). And while AOW is starting to drag with the body counts, it provides a nice counterpoint to the REAL historical/moral lessons of DJG and the uber-sappiness of OMR .

LOL JP--I thought of making a joke on that, but I couldn't think of any way to put it that didn't sound crude and insulting to Soju. You are so smooth... What's that number--the police? AlaTeen? My mother? Bo

Don't book your flights yet, because although we're pretty sure about the date, we're NOT so sure if it will include a "viewing"--that's being worked out. Bo

JP or Albie, Do you know the name of this tea shop? Will they show JG? Let me know if you have the name and I can call to ask.
