Hello! ;D Native Chicagoan (well, suburban Chicagoan ) here who discovered KBC sometime last year after I found Japanese news on Ch. 23 WFBT and wondered, "Is there any other Asian programming on antenna TV here?" (I also discovered Chinese language programming on Ch. 13 but that's another story). Now, the reason I'm here isn't to discuss Korean dramas, but something else about Korean TV. On this page: www.maladroit.com/chin2/ you'll find some videos of a couple of Korean guys lip-syncing to various Korean songs. One of the movies on there, Chin1.mpeg, the guys are singing a cutesy-sounding song. I recognized it as the theme to a children's show on KBC a little while back, but I had no idea what the show's name was (which I think was mentioned in the song but I'm not sure). All I know of Korean is "I love you" (learned from K-Pop ) "Thank you" (from a Tae kwon do class) and the numbers 1-4 (I used to know 1-999 but I forgot 5 and everything after that! ). What's more, I can't try to find it myself since the only TV in my house that got KBC quietly died recently and the programming schedule for KBC I found here doesn't seem to list the children's show anymore) Anyway, if anyone can help me find the name of that song or at least point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

If you check out the Sunday afternoon programming on good old 28, the show you referred to is still on, though with a new theme song, at 2 o'clock. I haven't yet heard the song on the website you gave, but I do believe the one you refer to is one I have on video. I guess when something's good it never goes unnoticed, in this case, even by non-Korean grownups. And the internet never ceases to amaze me!

This may be another shot in the dark, but since we have some in our midst who are familiar with K-Kid shows, Bang: Circa 1997 there was a daily feature of a musical demonstration of Far Eastern-style paper- folding ("Origami" in Japanese), which I found to be the best part of the show. I have a few of them recorded on tape, but have not tried any myself, tho they're presumably simple enough for kids to follow. Here's the rub: I can't find any suitable paper for it. The stuff they used on the show was square and had a different color on each side. When I inquired about it in Korean shops in Lawrencetown, they looked at me like I was from another planet! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can find that paper in any craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Its called origami paper, they are cut in squares and some are patterned on one side and a solid color on another, some are also just one color on both sides and others one solid and another solid on the other side. They come in various sizes and packs.
Also try looking for washi paper or chiogami (kimono yuzen chiogami) paper. There are quite a few sites that sell them online, just do a search for origmai paper. I do know that Michaels carries them and if they do so should Hobby Lobby.

Okay, I came to the right place for my info. That sounds too simple, Sasami! I never thought of trying Hobby Lobby, and I can walk over to one from here. Much thanks. I'll try a bird with flapping wings for starters.
