Oh, now I remember her. She was the female lead in Giant! Yi Bangwon's actor was in Giant also. In that show, he lusted after her for a while, even about to be wed until it got called off.. Now they are married. A rocky marriage due to certain things in history but still. That is hilarious.

hmmm.... Anybody else get a Kingdom vibe from that? Curiously enough, some of the outdoor Palace sets they used for the Joseon Palace are from the Buan Set Complex, where Palace scenes from Kingdom were filmed. Most other dramas film at the Yongin theme park (formerly the MBC theme park, featured in any MBC sageuk from Shindon forward), or in select areas of the real Changdeok Palace.

A video of the Buan Theme Park youtu.be/g6j8OrKC4m8 it seems that the 2015 Sado movie was also filmed here.

All I can think of is "They sure are reusing the costumes in JDJ" Budget for traditional KBS historical is very small. This is one reason why they chose Lee Bangwon to be the returning historical. They want to re-use old costumes to save money, but costumes they have for periods prior to Joseon era are closer to fantasy costumes. The most accruate costumes that they have is for this time period. As much as I want to see a Goyreo period drama rather than usual Joseon dynasty dramas we get, I'd rather not see it if it's going to have Empress Cheonchu type of costumes. Anyways, hope this drama is a success so that they can do another traditional historical after this instead of going on another long hiatus. If they do another traditonal historical after this drama, I hope it isn't about Imjin War just like how they did Jingbirok right after Jeong Dojeon. Imjin War is probably another period with accurate costumes inside KBS's costume closet, but I really don't want to see another Imjin War drama. IYSS, Jingbirok, and Imjin War 1592 were more than enough.

IYSS, Jingbirok, and Imjin War 1592 were more than enough. Absolutely we have to hope it does well. Frankly I'm a little bit nervous about it, between that "different point of view" comment we got from the producers and the sort of Kingdom-esque feel that the trailer had to it. What we get may be very unlike what we're used to in a historical. Which wouldn't necessarily be bad...we'll have to keep open minds. BTW I did reach out to the Chicago KBS outlet and asked if and when they're going to air the series. Probably it will show up on websites before it airs on broadcast stations, but either way I'll post whatever answer I get. truth do you think there's any chance that they might dust off that Jeong Yak Yong script if they go to a second series? I don't know how far they got into the planning process on it before, but obviously it had some support from somebody in the network. I'd really like to see that story done (done well).

I just checked KBS World's schedule it looks like Mysterious Personal Shopper and School 2021 are starting next week. Both of those run 16 episodes so if KBS World air it over here at all it wont be until end of Jan/early Feb .

I don't know how far they got into the planning process on it before, but obviously it had some support from somebody in the network. I'd really like to see that story done (done well). Not sure they'll go with Jeong Yak Yong considering it covers King Jeongjo's reign, which is already being covered in currently running MBC drama Red Sleeves. They would be different, of course. Red Sleeves is a fusion-romance drama while Jeong Yak Yong would focus more on Jeong Yak Yong's life achievements rather than Jeongjo's love interest, but a drama that takes place during same timeline as a recent successful drama is probably not a good idea. I also think idea of Jeong Yak Yong drama has been scrapped off completely when it was called off back in 2016. The three candidates for the returning historical before choosing Lee Bangwon were Lee Bangwon, King Jeongjo, and Emperor Hyeonjong of Goryeo. They chose Jeongjo as candidate, not Jeong Yak Yong, which most likely means it was scrapped off and not even considered as a possible candidate.
