A different feel to this one. Not really darker, but certainly more serious, maybe even grave, like the world is about to be shaken up. The music helped convey that, too--it was very good.
You could really see in the transfer-of-power scene that Choi Soo Jong is not physically imposing at all. Smallest guy in the room. The series he’s been in have usually tried to hide that but it was painfully obvious here.
The first narrated text:
...aaand there it is! Yes Misaeng was pregnant and here’s the baby.
...aaand there it goes! Wow. I didn’t care for any of that. Wondering if it’s historically accurate.
“How cold you are! You’ve seen your own blood and yet you do not even blink!” Yeah well why was she surprised? He’s never been exactly warm and fuzzy with her. Going all the way from the east coast to wave the kid in his face, seemed like an awfully bad decision.
So WG’s parents leave for their new assignment in Geumsung and WG goes screaming after them? He can’t do anything about it so why the desperation? Geez he hardly seems like leader material right there. Stiff upper lip, kid.

Master...It is a title of respect for the head of a clan., but is also used to address the ruler of a dominion. Thus, it is also a title of address for a king. A king and his servant...People of Song-ak were now pledging their loyalty to their own new king. Wang Ryung headed toward Chulwon to face Goongyae. Like other chieftains of the region, he, too, would kneel before Goongyae. Bu the had an ulterior motive. He would haggle with Goongyae for a deal of a lifetime with the country as the commodity.Hmmm, they were pledging loyalty to their new lord, but there was always a national ruler and I don’t think they saw their local lord as their king or queen. Maybe it was a mistranslation but whatever, it doesn’t sound right.

Neungsan, better known as Shin Seungkyum, he would later sacrifice his life for Wang Guhn and become the ultimate patriot of Koryo. Park Sulhee...He would also become a devoted subordinate who Wang Guhn, at his death, would trust his last will with. Both men would later play essential roles in assisting Wang Guhn’s unification of the three Koreas. And this was their first encounter. That’s about it for this one. KH has settled nicely into the king’s role and looks much more comfortable and natural by now.
