“Why are you splitting up our forces? That’s the worst strategy to take.” Yes it is! Considering how much of this episode dealt with the important stuff rather than who’s-your-daddy, I should have enjoyed it more. But the whole business of three battles going on at once, it didn’t make sense. Defending Liaoxi and the Daebang lands, okay, but why also attack Mahan at the same time? Nobody ever explained why this absolutely had to be done at the same time as the others. Of course KG would put that on hold. So the whole premise of everything that was happening was questionable.
Nice scene of the soldiers boarding boats at the dock. The producers spent some money to get that one done.
The narrated text:
Prince Yeochan had about the saddest evil laugh I’ve ever heard. Like a six-year-old trying to pretend. Yecch.
“They used to be pirates. They know these waters....” All the more reason it’s hard to buy them suddenly coming into the Baekje government and holding high positions and possibly bearing the next king. Established Baekje clans would fight like the dickens to prevent it. Pirates!
“You must have a princess.” Why is grandpa telling her that? Does he think she can do anything about it at this point?
“I won’t have this baby.” Now Yeohwa thinks she gets a vote? Good grief the two most sensible people in the whole thing and they’re both losing their minds.
Will give credit for one very clever idea: all of a sudden Yeohwa’s having the baby two months premature. No way anybody saw that coming. And it sure stirred the pot, didn’t it. Whoever thought of that, bravo, well done.
Hae Geon to the physician: “If you’re going to say the baby’s premature, you’ll have to die.” Oh now stop this immediately! I don’t mean the royal physician getting a death threat—that’s become a cherished tradition in these historicals—I mean the idea that this one physician lying and saying the baby isn’t premature will convince everyone. Please don’t pursue this, writers. Other people are going to see this baby besides the one physician! And like the women said, it’s easy to tell a seven-month baby from a nine-month baby. (Oh and finally the writers have admitted now that two months passed between Yeohwa's leaving Sayu and her first night with KG, just like I estimated. Which means this whole thing should never have been an issue.)
“Yeohwa isn’t like that. If there was the slightest possibility, she wouldn’t have married Eoraha.” Did Annoying Girl actually say something not nasty about Yeohwa? Wow, too bad nobody else heard it.
This actually wasn’t a bad episode at all, and I didn’t mean to sound too complain-y about it. I was just a little disappointed because it could have been better.

The narrated text:
With Baekje fortresses in Liaoxi, King Geunchogo couldn’t avoid collision with Yan. Since its founding, Yan battled constantly with Goguryeo to the east and Zhao to the west to become the most powerful [nation] in the continent. Yan weakened Zhao and gained control of Huabei and advanced to Liaoxi. King Geunchogo had to conquer Yan to rule Liaoxi.Well no, not conquer, just defeat...and as truth mentioned earler, and as the Wikipedia page for Baekje states upfront, this whole Liaoxi business is “controversial” and it isn’t known for certain whether or not Baekje was ever involved up there. I think it was a mistake to bring Liaoxi back into the picture at this point. Not only because Baekje/Goguryeo is what we know from real history, but also because we’ve gotten to know some of the Goguryeo people pretty well by now and they’re an interesting group, especially Sayu. Give those guys more of the focus.
