This isn't a traditional sageuk but I enjoyed this one compared to the sageuks we have lately... although I wouldn't say that this is a great drama. At first, I thought that the story will be more focused on romance but they didn't and that's one of the things I liked about it. Although I didn't like how some parts of the story looks like it suddenly change from what they have shown at the start of the series. I was happy to see the so called antagonist acting like they weren't really bad - they just really love their country so much..too bad they change that later on and made them the usual villains who are driven by their greed for power. I have a mix feeling about the ending... I like it but at the same time I feel a bit disappointed that they made the King look like he choose to left his throne out of fear that he might chase after the girl once again if he's too close to her. If they were going to narrate the ending, then they should've at least stay true on what really happened.
But what I really like about this drama is the friendship between the two male leads. I think that's the strongest point of this drama and what I really liked.
