In EWG, the character ate the eyeball "to honor his parents" because they gave him the eye at birth. Is that what they call a see-food diet?

Nothing more yet on the DF website about when EWG will become available.
I'll keep checking. Certainly not in any rush here.

Still not another peep out of DF about EWG. So I just filled out their contact form and asked them if/when it was coming. We'll see how long it takes them to answer.

Yeah I know their customer service isn't exactly a model of efficiency, is it.
The last time I contacted them I did manage to get an answer. It took weeks and I think they were hosing me but they answered. (It was about Emperor of the Sea disappearing with no warning before I had finished it; they said it was coming back...but not only has it not come back but they've completely erased any evidence of it from their website, including everyone's reviews. Ugh.) So we'll see.
Considering what's happening with that Kocowa site I'm not all that optimistic any more about this actually happening. But Kocowa hasn't put up any archived historicals at all yet so who knows.

So...never mind about EWG. I actually got a prompt response today from DF's customer service people. Said they weren't able to get the license so they won't be streaming it after all. I've heard KBS can be exceptionally difficult about this stuff; not sure if that's the reason for this but either way, a disappointment.
Means we'll need something else to slot after GOW ends. Pretty slim pickings on DF as far as anything resembling a traditional historical; as far as series not already done here, looks like it would have to be either Jumong or King Geunchogo. Or maybe something different will come along after the first of the year. Still 28 episodes of GOW left so there's no rush to choose.
p.s. I'll delete the show board and move this thread someplace else in a few days.

As for historical fiction, specifically leading fictional characters with history in the background, I like Jejoongwon and Giant.

I enjoyed watching both Jumong and King Geunchogo. Mind you, they both have their flaws. But I can recommend either of them.

Thanks mugwump, good to know. Did one of them seem more authentic to you than the other? Reason I ask is that I saw part of an episode of Jumong once and it was disappointing, because I expected something that went so far back in history to have a more ancient look and feel to it. It seemed like any other historical from a thousand or more years later. Is KG like that too? Not a deal-breaker; just curious.
If things don't improve as far as online options then we'll end up doing both shows anyway.

Jumong's source is more like mythology in the vein of King Arthur rather than history in my opinion, so I feel more lenient when it comes to liberties.
You are not wrong when you say the outfits aren't authentic. The clothing of the Buyeo people are not that colorful according to Chinese records. They primarily wear white.

If history is what you want, I wouldn't recommend Jumong like what sageuk said. KG has accurate traditional costumes and armors, but it's also heavily fictional. It does have more history than Jumong though. Jumong lacks both history and accurate costumes.

Yeah you're gonna get a lot of fiction with any time period that far back...but okay thanks I appreciate the insight. I don't get too bothered about the costumes; what surprised me about the Jumong episode was more the buildings than anything else. They looked liked buildings in any other historical from many centuries later. But maybe it's unreasonable to expect something different from a finite-budget TV series.
Have to confess that I saw Choe Myeong Gil in the cast list for KG so I'm having a hard time being objective! And Lee Deok Hwa too; he's always entertaining.
