Me too! For me mainly cuz I don't wanna be too far ahead of you. And I understand better what's going on. Second time is actually better than the first for me. I've watched all three episodes twice so far.
Yes, this scene was very cute and funny. I can just picture him stepping on Prince So's foot and Prince So saying, "Do you want to die?" I wish we actually saw it happen.
Well, his body scars are from battles and he's not ashamed of those. For a warrior I would think a scarred body is actually something to be proud of. The scars on his face is different. They were put there by his mother and I think that makes it very difficult for him to accept. Besides, no one can see the scars on his body. And by all means, I agree with you when you say his face is not hard to look at!
The nurses on schedule for today had to stay overnight at the hospital last night. Thank the Lord I wasn't one - I hate sleeping over at the hospital. Yeah, the snow is not too bad. We got maybe a foot or two. Beautiful out, I wish it had been like that for Christmas. So funny you saying that cuz in fact I was outside without a coat yesterday. I went for a nice walk in a thick sweater and I wasn't cold at all. Quite a different story today.
Guess what?? My husband agreed to watch Scarlet Heart with me!! He's such a sweetheart, I know he agreed just to be nice but I think he'll really like it. We'll see. I get to watch it on the big screen now, yay!! And that'll give you time to catch up too, Birdy, cuz I was gonna go on to epi 4 tonight but instead will watch epi 1 with Hubby.
But would you mind answering my question regarding Lee Joon Gi's physique? Did you not think he was too thin? Just wondering if it's just me. I guess I like my men a little more fattened up...

Finished Ep3.....I really liked the scene where Hae Soo starts to cry in the woods, it was very meaningful to me, she was in such a stressful situation, seeing all that fighting and killing and when it was all over, as a emotional release she just . breaks down, She sure has been through alot so far! I thought the actor did a great job in this scene. I was equally confused by the Queen's comment about Goryeo belonging to one of her son's. I haven't grasped all the family ties yet.....like the scene with Princess Yeon Hwa treating Prince So's wound, as someone who is just begining to put the Prince's relations together, it was a gut feeling I had that made me cringe when watching this. I am interested to see on how the writers are going to add the details to the storyline to let us know how and why people act the way they do. Loved the scene with Prince Baek drawing-- the drawings were great, the music was great. The scene with the corpses seemed so out of place. I, too thought they had gotten rid of the corpse-- no way to track the people involved if they couldn't find the fighters. I'm not sure why they had to use "fallen" monks? Because they couldn't be monks anymore? Because they had a dislike in King? Because they couldn't talk? I don't really like the fight scenes, I have never really like the Flying fighters, the leaping over buildings, running over rooftops-- just a straight out fight would make more sense. And really-- Prince So killed all those monks? And set the buildings on fire before anyone else showed up? And killing the head monk? Why??? I thought he was trying to get answers, not get rid of them! But of course, with no tongues they wouldn't be much help with him getting answers! Maybe, he just wanted to get rid of anyone that was helping Prince Yo? Up until this episode I was really liking Prince Wook, but I don't think he is the one for Hae Soo, he comes across more of a big brother than a love interest-- even if having a love triangle helps the story. Still like Prince Yun-- he adds just the right amount of comedy to the story. I wonder if it would be a better drama, by keeping Prince So as a love interest, Prince Wook as a older brother and Prince Yun as the trouble making little brother......haven't really figured out where the other Princes fit it..... (how's the snow???)

1) I'm not sure why they had to use "fallen" monks? Because they couldn't be monks anymore? Because they had a dislike in King? And set the buildings on fire before anyone else showed up? And killing the head monk? Why??? 1) It's because these fallen monks are already criminals so were easily recruited as assassins. They were rejected from the Holy Order because of their sins and got their tongues cut off. I imagine they had nowhere else to go in society. 2) Oh no, not me! The more flying the better I like it! I love Iljimae when he nimbly flies all over the roofs and things. Did you ever watch the movie, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"? (Did I get the title correct?) I loved all the flying scenes! 3) Here is a little spoil alert... ...like I said, the end of episode 3 was too suspenseful for me to stop there so I watched a little bit of the beginning of episode 4. There Prince So tells his mother what he just did. He killed all those fallen monks and burned down the temple to get rid of all evidence that tied his mother to the attempted assassination of the Crown Prince. He did it to protect his mother, such as she is. Hubby and I watched episode 1 the other night. He didn't love it like I did (I didn't expect that) but he liked it enough to go onto episode 2. We're watching it tonight. I haven't decided whether I'm gonna watch ahead of him or if I'm gonna wait till he catches up. Anyway, I'll watch episode 4 soon. Can't wait!!!

Just so you know, his name is Prince So. The lead girl's name is Soo - Hae Soo. I know these names can be confusing. I'm so glad you caught up, Birdy, (and passed me!) cuz I've been dying to go on to epi 4. Heck, I may even do two episodes right now. We're snowed in again so why not? We have nowhere to go. My darling Lee Joon Gi oppa, I'm coming for ya!!

Oops, typo--- or maybe I was thinking about Prince Wook, so I as I was typing I combined his name with Prince So's and it came out with two "O" instead off one! Or maybe it was just such a good episode I forgot how to type at all!!! Guess I can be happy you are still snowed in, I am sooo ready for Ep5! (but first I am gonna go out and wash the car ) (stay warm!)

Episode 4 Synopsis
Prince So enters his mother's chamber after killing the fallen monks and burning down the temple. He tells her he did it to protect her but she is not the least grateful. This mother is pretty evil. And very cold-hearted. Almost hard to believe. She says he is her "shame, disgrace, and flaw." But she's the one who caused all that!
He takes his anger out on the wishing stones outside. Hae Soo happens to come by at that moment and tries to stop him. She comforts him somewhat by telling him that she understands what he's suffering. He is moved and listens to her words intently.
Next morning, there is a sort of hearing with the King regarding the attempted assassination. The princes reveal that the owner of the temple is Queen Yoo. The King asks her if she is the one behind the attempted assassination and she denies it firmly. The Princes So, Wook, and Yo ban together to support Queen Yoo. She seems to kinda appreciate their efforts.
Later, Soo delivers Prince So's meal up to him as he sits outside contemplating life. She notes he looks very lonely. They spend a cozy time together, deepening their relationship further. It's obvious Prince So is finding Soo's company interesting. Soo doesn't like him much at this point but she definitely sympathizes with him. He feels this and therefore appreciates her.
Lady Hae is seriously sick and tells Prince Wook to take another wife or to divorce her. He says no. She says she knows he does not love her and he has no response for that.
Prince Eun comes to visit Soo, bearing all kinds of toy gifts. He seems to have developed a full-blown crush on her. All this just irritates her.
Chae Ryeong gets caught by Princess Yeon Hwa when she sneaks into Prince So's quarters to return the hairpin he had dropped at the royal bath and that Soo had picked up. While she is getting a good lashing, Soo comes to her rescue. She says she can't explain but Chae Ryeong is innocent and that if there must be a beating they can beat her instead. Oh the look of glee in Princess Yeon Hwa's vivcious eyes! By now all the princes are there looking on, all worrying for Soo. Yet none do anything to step in. Just as she is about to get her third lash, Prince So steps in and stops it. He says Hae Soo "belongs to him." Everyone is astounded, Soo most of all.
Prince Wook waits for Prince So to tell him that nothing in that place belongs to him, neither Yeon Hwa nor Hae Soo. Prince So is a little taken back by this as Prince Wook has been one of the nicer brothers so far. Jealousy kicking in but Prince So doesn't realize this.
Prince Wook comes to give some medicine for Soo's back. He promises her no one will ever treat her like that in the future, that she can count on his words. She is touched but at the same time feels guilty and runs back into her room.
Next morning, Hae Soo bumps into Prince So - literally. She scolds him for saying she "belongs to him." He asks, as he leans down close to her face, should he say she's "his person" then. The connotation is more like "his woman." She does not agree with this either and hurriedly leave, embarrassed. This causes him to smirk to himself.
Prince Jung gets into trouble with some villagers. Hae Soo comes to his rescue, sort of, just as he's about to lose his arm. When they are both in trouble, Prince Wook comes to their rescue. And then when all three are in trouble, Prince So comes to rescue them.
When they are alone, Prince Wook confesses his feelings for Hae Soo, kinda. And just when he's about to kiss her the other family members arrive to break that up. He leaves, all frustrated.
Prince So reprimands Prince Jung for carelessly playing with other people's lives. Prince Jung talks back at his older brother quite freely. Prince So smacks him upside the head just when Queen Yoo comes in. She instantly pounces on Prince So and pushes him away from Prince Jung. She makes him promise to stay away from Prince Jung. He promises and leaves. This makes Prince Jung very unhappy.
Prince So rebuilds the wishing stones he had destroyed earlier, thinking back to how his mother pushed him away. Tears glisten in his eyes. Such a sad scene.
King Taejo rewards Prince So's efforts in keeping the Crown Prince safe by allowing him to stay on at Songak. Prince So is very happy.
Hae Soo meets up with Prince So as he's continuing with his rebuilding of the wishing stones. He tells her he's going to live at the palace now. They exchanges glances as it starts snowing. Prince So is slowly but surely falling for Hae Soo.

Episode 4 Review
Really, really loved this episode. It just gets better and better.
I just don't understand the mother though. Why does she hate Prince So so much? I understand that she's probably suffering from some guilt complex for what she did to his face but really, get over it already! She's really awful to him. And he wants to be loved by her so much.
I loved the scene where Prince So and Hae Soo are walking along and he reaches out to try to help her carry the food basket. So cute! And the way he smiles at her and then catches himself. He probably hadn't smiled like that in years. I love the little dent that appears on his chin whenever he has a particular expression, like disbelief or surprise.
When Soo was getting a lashing everyone was concerned for her but no one stepped in to help her until Prince So did first. Now there's a hero, just going into help her without thinking much. I like that. Everyone else hesitated, especially Prince Wook. 1-0 Prince So. And when he said she belonged to him, wow! Very dramatic.
There was this curious glance exchanged between Chae Ryeong and Prince Won. Did you catch that, Birdy? Are they having an affair or something? That was strange.
When Prince Jung talked back at Prince So for scolding him I thought that was a little out of character. I mean, wasn't he scared witless by him in the earlier episodes? What happened to all that fear?
Oh the ending was so romantic. Loved the way Prince So couldn't keep his eyes off Soo. And the way he flinched when their eyes met was so cute. He is soooo gorgeous!!
Okay, on to episode 5...
p.s. You don't know how relieved I was that Prince Wook didn't kiss Hae Soo. Hae Soo, please don't like him too much, cuz then what about our Prince So???!?

I don't know about you, Jewel but I think it might take me forever to get thru this drama, I just want to re-watch every episode as soon as I finish one-- this one especially! I agree with you about Prince So' mother, what a witch! To me she seems to take a special thrill in hurting Prince So-- and all I can say is there better be a really good reason, not that any reason would be acceptable-- but it has to be more than guilt for ruining her son's beautiful face. Loved, Loved, Loved both scenes with the wishing stones, makes me want to go out and collect stones and build my own towers. I thought Lee Joon Ki did an exceptional job in these scenes, it is really amazing to watch all his emotions come to play in the differnt scenes. In the begining, when he entered his mother's room, he almost looked like he was insane. I really hope that the "love triangle" doesn't become a really important part of this drama. The small sparks between Hae Joo and Prince Wook are just enough, it adds some interesting side notes to the story but in reality I can't see them together. (and you know I like Prince Wook) I think Prince Wook makes more of an "older brother" part and Prince Yun makes a good younger "brother" part-- both add to the story, but let's not let it get out of control. Could Prince Wook really marry Hae Soo if they are cousins? Not sure if that is the correct term or just the english translation.... but could that really happen? I know family ties are really important in that time period, but was just wondering. This episode, in my opinion had the best fight scene so far-- it was much more realistic and when Prince So showed up and the "bad" guys decided to run off, they actually have one guy stumble and fall-- something that could actually happen in that type of situation. Now-- do I rewatch this episode again or go on to Episode 5?!?!??!?!?

1) I agree with you about Prince So' mother, what a witch! To me she seems to take a special thrill in hurting Prince So-- and all I can say is there better be a really good reason, not that any reason would be acceptable-- but it has to be more than guilt for ruining her son's beautiful face. 2) I thought Lee Joon Ki did an exceptional job in these scenes, it is really amazing to watch all his emotions come to play in the differnt scenes. In the begining, when he entered his mother's room, he almost looked like he was insane. 3) Could Prince Wook really marry Hae Soo if they are cousins? Not sure if that is the correct term or just the english translation.... but could that really happen? I know family ties are really important in that time period, but was just wondering. 4) This episode, in my opinion had the best fight scene so far-- it was much more realistic and when Prince So showed up and the "bad" guys decided to run off, they actually have one guy stumble and fall-- something that could actually happen in that type of situation. 1) Yes, she is unusually cruel. I didn't think people could behave like that to a stranger even, but to be like that to your own son... they say words can't break your bones, this may be true. But they sure can break your heart. You could see her words breaking Prince So's heart. But you could also see that they weren't going to break his spirit. 2) Lee Joon Gi's acting is tremendous. His range of emotions are limitless. When he was confronting his mother, the tragedy of it all reached Shakespearean proportion, I felt. His flawless acting made me feel that way. 3) Hae Soo is not Prince Wook's cousin - she is Lady Hae's cousin 6th times removed. So yes, Hae Soo and Prince Wook could marry without any problem. (I hope to God they don't though!) 4) Not for me. Prince Wook's fight scene was very fun, I have no complaint about that. But for me, it pales when compared to Prince So's fight with the fallen monks in the temple from the previous episode. I could tell exactly when Prince Wook's actor was replaced by a stunt double in his fight. Quite a few times the camera zoomed way out, was behind him, was above him - all to cover the fact a double was used. In Prince So's fight scenes none of this happened. Because Lee Joon Gi does pretty much all his own stunts, the camera is right there with him. Which means the viewer is right there with him. I feel this makes the fight scenes so much more real. I think this is why I always found Lee Joon Gi's fight scenes in all his dramas so exciting. They are all authentic without doubles. Also, he's a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo which explains why he can do his own fight scenes.

Ajk, you're always so nice... the snow storm was not too bad. Everything shut down for a day, that was all. Back to normal next day.
Episode 5 SYNOPSIS
Prince Wook really falling hard for Soo now.
Hae Soo visits the palace. She meets the King. She also meets up with Prince So, who is all dressed in a courtly fashion. Soo gets a glimpse of how Prince So is treated by his mother.
Lady Hae asks Queen Hwangbo to allow Prince Wook to marry Hae Soo.
Hae Soo finally meets Ji Mong the Astronomer. She tries to get him to admit they've met in the 21st century. He neither admits or denies.
Prince Wook gives Soo a poem and asks her to give one to him in return. She does and all the princes try hard to figure out what it is exactly. Prince So very curious too and he is the only one to figure out that the "drawing" is a laughing face.
Prince So and Prince Yo seemingly fights over Princess Yeon Hwa as a husband material for her. The men are not related to her? I thought the drama made it pretty clear they all had the same father, the King.
Lady Hae dies.

Episode 5 REVIEW
This was not one of my favorite episodes. Hardly nothing of Prince So and nothing really happened. But it was still a good, solid episode that laid out all the foundation for all the various characters and their relations to each other. I was sad to see Lady Hae go, she was really a lovely person.
Hubby and I'll be watching episode 6 tonight.

I really like Episode 5-- never have laughed so hard and then cried so hard. Seeing Lady Hae die was so sad, even though we knew it was going to happen. The scene with the Princes trying to figure out her "poem" was so funny, but I literally shouted at the computer screen "It's an emoji"--no surprise that Prince So was the one to figure it out.... but loved how the Princes tried to mimic the picture. Glad you are getting to Ep 6, I tried really hard to hold off on watching it, but just could not and watched it today. Can't wait to hear you take on it. (How's hubby liking this?) Also, I think you mentioned it once, but I am really, really liking the music in this drama.

And yes of course Prince So figured it out cuz he's Soo's soulmate. Or he'd better be. If she marries Prince Wook I'm gonna be very very sad. 2) Hubby and I finished epi 6 just now. I'll write it up tomorrow. 3) Hubby likes it quite a bit. He says it's picking up now. I love it!!! 4) Ohmgosh I absolutely LOVE the music. I bought the album at iTunes. If you're interested it's under the name Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I listen to it all day long, whenever I can.
