Still not getting very far into the actual story, are we. Another please-get-on-with-it episode.
Would they really do that--run out and arrrest a chief trader just because somebody found "a prohibited item"? I'm not arguing it, maybe they did, it just seemed harsh not to even question her first. After all, anything could have happened...a rival trader planting something, for example.
And I certainly hope we're going to find out the source of the prohibited item! Nothing in this episode got any closer to the answer about that. Of course, if she made a mistake and tried to import something that was on a naughty-list then she really did mess up. That would be extremely important. (I wondered if Master Yi had it planted to teach Yeom Moon a lesson about going against his order and letting Jung-hwa do that one deal on her own. But I guess not, or he'd have fessed up by now.)
Of all the wine joints in all the towns in all Tang, they walk into the only one where they knew somebody.. Wait, isn't that Casablanca?
It wasn't entirely clear that Yeom Moon did or did not end up having to give the bribe to the Tang official. Did Master Jo get Jung-hwa released himself? Later on Master Yi said he knew that YM had borrowed the money...but we don't know if it was used or just returned. It does matter--if he's out the 300 coins for her freedom then she owes him big-time.
"You must forget me. I'll forget you as well." HUH? Now wait just a darned minute here...those two were willing to give up everything and live pretty much as fugitives just so they could be together...and now she gives him the cold shoulder? Neither of them would have to live as fugitives any more; she'd just have to quit her job. What happened to all that? Am I just missing the point here? Because it seems like a very dumb plot twist. Somebody please explain it to me.
And then she tells Madam Jami that Master Yi arranged for her release? Does she not think that MJ will thank him for that, and find out it was a lie? Sheesh!
And those two telepathic flashes Jung-hwa had of GB in danger, those were stupid and unnecessary.
An uprising in Shilla led by a captain named Kim Chun-pil? Any truth to that? I couldn't find anybody named Kim Chun-pil online or in my history book, but I know there was a series of revolts led by various Kims in Shilla's later years.
Well let's give credit to the rich girl, she can't have GB and she could have been a spoiled brat about it but it looks like she's gonna help him out. Very good of her.
