MBC Chicago has announced a new weekend drama called "The Legend of the Witch" that will begin airing this Saturday, January 31. A total of 40 episodes, each 60 minutes long; airs Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 p.m. Chicago time. They didn't provide any information about reruns; the current drama in that time slot reruns on Mondays and Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m., but I don't know if they'll do the same for the new series. Title notwithstanding, this is actually a contemporary drama. Story about four young women who become friends while serving time in a women's prison (Easy, guys, it's not like that!) and learn the baking trade with hopes of opening their own bakery. The only actor among the announced group that I know we've seen before here in the forum is the idiot grandmother from "A Tale of Two Sisters." Ironic because some of that series revolved around a bakery too. Anyway, I've attached the PDF announcement that MBC Chicago released and an AsianWiki link. I've just started watching this show, and I'm hooked! I wasn't sure because she's a little older now, but the starring female is Han Ji-Hye, formerly of Likeable or Not and Summer Scent. Also, another of my faves is Pyeon Jung-Su, who played Jinju (pearl) in a KBS dailiy Asian Wiki didn't even list (maybe because it was so bad, started out fabulously but got retooled into a complete trainwreck), Love Can Be Refilled (Refeeled?). Another guy I recognize was the father of The Famous Chill Sisters, Park In-Hwan. Only two episodes in because I failed to record last night, (but fortunately WIN-TV is very good about posting their schedule and I will not fail again) this show seems really good with a huge plot twist already. Looking forward to the rest of the series! CV
