wiki.d-addicts.com/Life_is_Beautiful_(SBS)Kim Soo Hyun, the same screenwriter who brought us Who's My Love? and Angry Mom/Mom Has Grown Horns, is back with a new series that has everything in it that Joanie and I love about K-Dramas! It's about a family who runs a resort on Jeju Island, which also means that the scenery is magnificent, but what makes this drama so special is that the writing, direction and acting are as good as it ever gets in Korean dramas. There's a lot of humor, but there are a lot of interesting subplots woven throughout. One of the things I especially like about Life is Beautiful are some of my favorite actors from historical dramas being cast in roles that are completely different from what we've normally seen: Kim Young Chul, who was fantastic as Goongyae in Emperor Wang Guhn is one of the dads and he's a very likeable and kind character and Kim Sang Joong, who was King Kwang Jong (So) in Dawn of the Empire is a middle-aged fastidious bachelor in LIB! Other actors from Who's My Love and Angry Mom are here as well. I can say enough good things about this drama - because of the strength of the ensemble cast and the variety of the character types and the complexity of their interactions, Life Is Beautiful would work well as an ongoing series. We very highly recommend this one!

I can't believe nobody's watching this! It's really good and as I mentioned before, it's by the same writer as Who's My Love? and it's touching and funny in the same way. It doesn't seem to be on dramafever or crunchyroll though, so maybe that's why. You can see it here: www.mysoju.com/life-is-beautiful-sbs/

LOL. I love how the two pics of Kim Sang-joong show him in exactly the same place. I really don't "get" my-soju, but I'll make an effort for this. I don't think DF is planning to get it, as they ignored my advising them they should. Bo PS - DARN YOU KEN. I've watched two minutes, eleven seconds. It is blurry and jerky because my computer is scanning for viruses, and I'm totally hooked. ;D How many episodes have you seen so far?

Joanie and I are up to #50, which is the last episode WITH S2 has done subtitles for. It actually gets better as it goes on. The only bad thing is that it's really hard to wait for the fansubbing group to finish subbing episodes once you get caught up. Sorry about mysoju's shortcomings, though.

The subs are actually very good so far, though. Sort of reminds me of Michael Han's good work, giving you what things are actually called and then defining them, and explaining why a woman calls her brother-in-law "uncle" etc.
