Well, they have to stop because Cheonchu is no longer active during second invasion of Khitan. The drama should change title to Gang Gam Chan to continue with third Khitan invasion.
Koryo would have been one of richest & developed culture of Asia at that time if without major wars with Khitan, Mongols and Jurchens. Koryo went through just too many invasions as well as internal civil wars between warrior factions.

Actually they made Cheonchu lead the second Khitan invasion in the drama, and Gang Gam Chan's third Khitan invasion is only mentioned by the narrator at the end.

Bearing in mind this is a fictional drama about real people that we know little about ,its actually from a fictional standpoint as just going for adventure a pretty decent way to end it . What is the drama that will replace it ?I mean the drama that will air between Cheon Chu and the next Historical Drama about the merchant in the Joseon Dynasty .

Cheonchu wasn't even at the war, it was Yangyu who stopped 2nd invasion of Khitan by fight to the death. He and his men died bravely trying to stop the Khitan force. Yangyu actually kill several Khitan generals and top warriors.
He stopped Khitan by shooting his arrow at Khitan's top general, eventually Gang Jo, Yangyu and Kim Sukhyun died at the battle. But because Khitan lost so many good warriors, they withdraw without much gain.

I know Cheonchu wasn't in the war. I'm just telling you what happened in the drama. Believe me, I didn't like the idea that Cheonchu was the mas heroic protagonist in the first place.

Watched the final IE, Cheonchu save the emperor of Koryo and tries restoring her policies. Still show General Yangyu and his men counter attacking Khitan which led the Khitan withdraw with heavy losses.
Interesting storyline specially on Kim Jin (last son of Cheonchu) who becomes leader of Jurchen clan, which led to founding legend of Jin Empire. Well, just like the story from IE, Jin emperors never attacked Koryo. According to Chinese records, the founder of Jin Dynasty came from Koryo/Silla and called Koryo as mother land.

Well it has finally, mercifully ended in Los Angeles. And, interestingly, our closeout said "thank you for WATCHING The Iron Empress".
The finale was thankfully lacking in any of the gravity/logic/physics-defying moments, and actually was pretty well done. They had a lot of loose ends to tie up, and pretty much did (although I suspect there were some scenes cut to fit in the 50 min running time slot) ...I need to watch it again and see.
Not sure if KBS will continue in LA on broadcast, will be interesting to see what is in TIE's timespot at 8pm tonight.
So, who is gonna start the post-mortem analysis thread????

My “guess” (for whatever it’s worth) is that since KBS-LA contracts with KXLA (channel 44) for their evening timeslot, KBS will probably continue to utilize that timeslot until their contract with KXLA finally expires. Otherwise, they’d probably have to pay some kind of penalty.
No idea when that might be, of course. KBS might even continue with Los Angeles over-the-air broadcasting for another year or two . . . or they might vanish tomorrow!
As they say, I guess the fun is in not knowing.

So at least L.A. made it to the end without getting cut off like most other places did. Glad you got to see it through, simisteve (although at 50 minutes an episode I'm not sure I should be happy for you at all).
Anyway, we can start the big-time post-mortem in another month or so. I'm trying to keep up with posting two summaries a week, and am assuming that people who have had to turn to online viewing are watching two a week as well. I'll have #71 posted soon and that leaves seven more, so we're looking at a few more weeks.

We are really far behind in Philly: just finished episode 54. 12 more weeks to go.
I hope we make it to the end... and beyond.

Thanks AJK, KBS still broadcasting today, last night was some kind of awards show, I think.
Oh, and I guess there are no trained bears in Korea? Or maybe no budget for them?
