A Gentleman's Dignity, a romantic comedy starring Kim Haneul and Jang Donggun, is billed as the "male Sex in the City" and follows four men on their romantic adventures as they get a little older in life. I think you'll get the idea of the drama when I say, it starts out with a hilarious funeral scene. Man of Equator is a dark melodrama about hidden identities and deep emotion, following two friends as they start out at a boys' school together, separate and meet again many years later. Please tell me your opinion. I'll be doing one episode a week. Bo

I could not stand Sex In The City a male version does not move me either be it cougars and retail therapy especially shoes with the original than i guess a male version would be lothario's and flip flop's ,anyway i was obviously in the minority as it was huge until they made that second film finally bringing it to the obscurity i long desired .Still not to knock anyone's taste as my own can be mind boggling at times though many people just put it down to my being from the other side of the pond ,you know we drink tea at three ,guzzle warm beer and say "cheerio wot !" eccentric bunch .
Man From The Equator i have heard is really good from many sources . Before we vote especially as Bo made a plea to all the historians tucked away in our dusty old scrolls in the QSD section i do hope my diatribe against poor old Doctor Jin did not put a negative on a historical drama still Jin is the glass half full but a very popular historical is God Of Warriors /War in fact best ancient epic in donkeys years than again "one mans washing machine is another mans music" so who knows .
So after so much poignant rambling at 8 mins after witching hour (left coastal time of course ..BTW weather is nice and cool here ) EQUATOR IT IS ...for me anyway .

Until when can we vote? I don't think AGD is a male version of Sex in the City. It's more like Boys Over Flowers but with older guys.

I'm holding the poll open until the week after Ind Day. That is, until Wed. 7/11/12.
Because I will start modding it the following week. Starting the week of 7/15--I don't know what day of the week I'm assigned, though.
It's just my schedule right now, sorry it's taking so long.

I don't think you're taking long. It's good to take your time and get feedback.
I voted for Man of Equator. That's probably surprising considering I'm the one who suggested AGD. Our board members seem to prefer shows that have more intrigue than just a love story. I think AGD is good but it's a romance drama. Man of Equator seems to have more going on and would likely appeal more to board members.

Okay, with my vote, that makes 6 for MOE. I like that--keep looking around for Curly and Larry... ;D
I'm still keeping this up until tomorrow, but it looks like it's MOE.

Here's the deal. I'll put a board up over the weekend for Man of Equator. Or maybe on Monday. I dunno. I'll post the first synopsis/episode thread on Tuesday, July 17.
Since this isn't one of those historicals like Yi San (QSD, Jumong, etc.) that requires a lot of text to make any sense at all of a synopsis, I'm hoping I can do it more like I did Painter, where I just hit the salient points of what happened in the episode. So you'll be able to avoid spoilers in discussing it.
It'll be one episode a week. See you there.
